Which bag do you consider me luxe?
I actually think both are equally luxe. Both have excellent workmanship and same attention to detail. Aesthetically wise, Aspinal is a bit more elegant (with all the lovely hardware and structure), while Polene is a bit more casual. I bought a half moon wallet from Polene for my mom before and I remember both of us being awed at how good the construction and quality was for the price. Polene has been on my radar for years and I just got to know Aspinal late last year.

@JenJBS I think you have both Aspinal and Polene too. What do you think? Which one do you consider to be more luxe?

Thank you. If you could only get one or the other, which one would you get??

Aspinal, and here’s my reasoning. If both of them had been the exact same shade of dark green, then it would have been a very difficult decision. But Polene happened to be a touch more olive green. I like olive green too but dark hunter and sacramento green is my favourite.

I see.
Well, if they had been the same color, which one??
HMM... I'd say Aspinal again. There's something about their products that are just so luxe and chic. Polene, I can find many other bags in my collection that serves the same purpose. So even if I don't buy this Numero Un, I wouldn't feel as if my collection lacked anything as about 70% of my bags either have the same vibe or same function. This isn't a bag that stands out in my collection, although it still wowed me (as I've always been drawn to similar aesthetics anyway).

But Aspinal, wow, I don't have anything in my collection quite like what they have to offer. Each piece is exquisite, each piece is luxe. You feel like you want to baby their bags, and you feel like you want to keep on looking at it and inspecting every little detail.

I need to win the jackpot so I can buy more bags.

Can I ask if the original Trunk will fit the most? When compared with the Pandora? Thanks.

I have the Mini Trunk, so not sure about the regular original trunk. The different shapes of the Trunk and Pandora mean that which holds more could change a little, based on the shape of what you put in them. But I'd give Pandora a slight edge on holding more, but not much at all. Both fit what I show in the What Fits photo - except with the Trunk I had to take my cards out of the wallet, and use the pocket in the Trunk to hold them. This doesn't bother me - I have a couple other bags like that - but it might bother some. I did some comparison amd what fits shots on page 6 of this thread. Hope that helps.

Oh it's simply gorgeous! I want in with this club!

Oh your picture is so good!!! I really love both but I'm partial to the AL bag.
Which bag do you consider me luxe?

I'd say AoL is more luxe, and Polene more chic. If I had to choose, AoL every time.

Am I crazy to consider getting the Trunk / Trinket Box as a display on my dresser to keep my daily jewels? Would anyone do this? I love the look so much, but there’s no way I would carry it as a bag because I love the brightest shades :giggle:

Nope. My Mini Trunk spends 99.9% of its life on my vanity as a jewelry box. Same with my AoL Sabine clutch.

The phrase that comes to my mind when I see many of Aspinal's bags (Mayfair, Trunk, Pandora, Circle, Grace, and Florence) is Vintage Chic. I know they have other bags in their line that don't fit that design vibe, but it's what initially appealed to me about the brand. I have a weakness for vintage bags and I liked their modern updates.

"Vintage chic" is exactly the image I had in mind but couldn't find the right words. Aspinal's more vintage styles remind me so much of what 50s Hollywood and British Royal Family wear.

As a matter of fact, I was watching one of Grace Kelly's films yesterday, Dial M for Murder, and her character was carrying a bag with Aspinal's vibe. Grace or Florence comes to mind.

Vintage chic. I love it! I think it precisely captures the vibe of these bags!!!
