TE - how does the SS look in Ruby? Is it too much ruby? I'm sure that doesn't make much sense, but I have the ruby LRC and I'm very nervous about color - the LRC works because it has enough other details, IMO, that it doesn't scream RED BAG! But I'm worried that the SS might just be tooooo much ruby, even though I absolutely love the color. So I'm thinking I might do the SS in Sable and then the CB in ruby. Thoughts?

And yes, I'm asking you to make up my mind for me! LOL!!

Hi TE,

I think you've been elevated to Tano Goddess. YOU TOTALLY ROCK!

I'm new and this may be an inappropriate question - so feel free to body slam me back to the puppy pen if it's out of line, but I noticed that there seems to be an ebay seller that has a wide selection of Tano bags - any idea if an ebay seller is an official Tano source? Can I trust it? They just seem to have a better variety of styles and colors compared to the few and trusted online sites that I've seen. (This is my first Tano... and I'm so psyched!)

TIA - you're the best

Everkath, I don't think TE is supposed to comment on other sellers. But there's another sticky called Online Stores, and you'll find lots of info there. You can even ask about a specific seller on that thread.

hi everkath!

Its not appropriate for me to express my opinion re: other online Tano sellers, but this is what I CAN say:

1. Find out the location of the store and check Tano's store locator (by state) to see if they are listed as an authorized dealer.

2. Make sure they have good return policy before you buy (most e-bayers do not).

3. Ask other members here if they have purchased from them and had any problems.

Considering that you can usually get a discount/coupon code for the trusted Tano sellers, you probably wont save much, if any, money buying a NWT Tano bag on ebay.

Furthermore, if you buy your Tano bag through a trusted seller, you're sure to get a much higher level of service before and AFTER the purchase (and should you ever have an issue with your bag, that's very important.)

Good luck!

TE

I love the ss in ruby, but I cant really make your decision for you. So far its my favorite velvet bag in ruby. Im hoping that quick witted will be sweet in ruby, too, though...

Thank you all. I'd read the rules but wasnt sure about some of the grey areas. Thank you so much for setting me right and giving me some great ways of acquiring a pretty new bag and saving some dosh on it too.

Oh, TE - I didn't *really* expect you to make my decision for me! I always wish for others to decide for me, though, because I have such a hard time doing it myself. Good to know that you love the SS in ruby....

Decisions, decisions. Thanks for your help!!

Hi TE! Another question from me. :) What colors did the VVGG come in? There's one on Ann's Fabulous Finds in a green color, but I can't tell what green it is, and the Tano site only lists mineral yellow and black, or something like that. Thank you!

The colors last Fall were: tango red, mango orange, mineral yellow, congo green, blueprint blue, charcoal, carafe brown, brusciato brown, and black. I believe that the vvgg came in all of those colors.

So, a few weeka ago I put my apricot messenger bag (a flapjack) away for a rest.

I just looked at it yesterday and noticed some oily looking spots at the bottom of the front pocket. Turns out some pieces of Trident gum must have escaped their package (bad gum, bad bad gum!) and sunk to the bottom of the pocket, evading detection when I emptied it. Ack!

I've tried apple cleaner and conditioner on the spots but they have no effect. I guess my next step is to find a cream polish that matches the bag and apply it.

TE, do you know which color is best for apricot? At the bottom of the Tarrago homepage (http://www.tarrago.us/) they show a large color chart. Which color would be the closest match?

Thanks for your (or anyone else's) thoughts...

hi aedo! I too asked TE for her advice, which was very helpful, and also called them. They will mail you a color chart for free, hopefully mine is coming tomorrow or Tuesday. The man I spoke with was very helpful and explained the differences between the shoe and coloring creams, and also suggested the dyes in fixing a very distressed Tano. He told me they have come out with new colors that are on the chart but NOT on the website, so if you want to order a new color you have to call. I am trying to find one to match the fall avocado and there isn't a close match on the site (spinach is too limey and olive is too brown), so I am anxiously awaiting that chart! good luck with your apricot!

Hey TE! Quick question--have you heard anything about the Sex Bomb returning for the Spring lineup in either crunch, or any other leather? It has officially overtaken the Boogie's 1st place favorite Tano award for me:love:
