Hey TE!

I am about to put my Lawn Boogie up for the cold season in a few weeks. Should I just leave her in the closet with all my other bags (in her dustbag) or should I seal her off somewhere? I have this big huge rubbermaid tub that I use to hold winter sweaters in the summer and summer clothes in the winter. Should I put her in there or does she need air?

Thats a buxom buddy in sangria (wine, not brown like the lister says) lenny leather from Fall 2007. The first lenny shipment was very wrinkled and had really uneven colorations as you see int he pic. It was very rustic and handhewn in appearance. I loved it myself, but a lot of customers just didnt "get it". Tano made it less extreme in future shipments.

Thanks TE! I thought it looked more wine-y than brown. I emailed the seller for more pics of the leather. It's so hard to tell just from pics if it's something I would like, though!

When is the glitterati coming out in grape? thanks!

This style was cancelled by Tano immediately after their trade show since it didnt book well. Tano cut just enough to fill whatever small amount of orders they received at the show. We call this CTO (cut to order.) There's really no way for me to look up what colors they cut to order. They only list mandarin on the dealer website, but I know they made other colors, too. You would have to email Tano to see which retailers got what. Sorry!

hi TE-I understand how if left untreated, crunch leather will distress and lose some of its color. I have treated my crunch leather bags as instructed here with the Apple products, but my FN is already showing signs of lightening in places, and I have only been using it on and off since July. I am really upset about this, as I love the rich, saturated colors of my bags and don't want this to happen! I was hoping by applying the Apple, this would be prevented.

But if the fading does occur, can you color over the spots with a matching color product safely, even if you treated them with Apple? If so, what was the name of the cream everyone was raving about, and will it work to restore the depth of the color? TIA!

First, you should gently clean your bag with a gentle leather cleaner like apple conditioner. http://leatherstuff.com/shop/view.php?id=265

You can find a colored cream to match the color of your bag from Tarrago to touch up the worn areas. http://www.tarrago.us/category/1267222501/1/Shoe-Creams64-Colors.htm

Finally, you can spray the bag to restore its shine and protect it from future damage: http://leatherstuff.com/shop/view.php?id=284

Always test in a small unseen area and wait 24 hours before doing the whole bag. Always use a soft chamoise or similar fabric cloth. Apply products to the cloth, not directly to the leather, then rub gently and evenly all over the bag.

These are good care instructions for those who want to keep their tano bags looking newer longer. I personally never treat my bags with anything and I love how they wear naturally. I wouldnt panic if your bag gets a bit softer or fades a bit... thats how they are SUPPOSED to wear! Its sort of impossible to change the nature of the beast...

Ah darn! thanks for the response though!

TE - Since the discussion about the Advice Book and its different rough-funky leather, the pictures on the tano site make the one off look like it is the same rough-funky leather - is that true? Aside from being rough and maybe the exact opposite of shiny/smooth/soft crunch, is there anything redeeming about that leather? The green one off still looks like it would be a cool bag, but the leather is kind of a put off compared to how great the crunch is.
