Oh, no! Maybe she should return just in case....
meant to write end of 2014 :D. But it seems like hers was made 1st part of 2014 so she should be ok.
it's very frustrating all these things happening with late changes to canvas. Aside from the peeling issues, i'm not very fond of the thin canvas. I want a speedy B Azur but hate the current thin canvas. I like light patina on Azur so the preloved route won't work for me. Finding a NEW speedy B 30 Azur made prior to 2014 seems impossible to me right now :huh:

It was made the 4th week of 2015.

Can you post pics of some of the stitching that you don't like?

This is the older model, right? I wonder if they still used the older canvas with the older model bags...even though it's made in 2015. Can you tell if it's really squishy? Can you post pics of the stitching?

older models were being made with new canvas. People who bought OM end of 2015 had issues with peeling as well.

If that's the stitching that you don't like, I just wanna say that's normal :smile1: That's how it looks on most Neverfulls too. The stitching on my Pocket Organizer looks that way too, it's just how the leather stitches... If you hand stitch leather, the front will always look better than the back, which will look like it has little bumps where the needle pokes the hole through... And I know for a fact that they hand-stitch the three double-stitches where the thread starts and ends, which is why those bumps are there, and they double-stitch the stitches because it adds strength so the ends of the thread don't come loose

It's actually before 2015 more like Around August of 2014. The new canvas was introduced I was told in November of 2014 just last week from the manager. So there are Delightfuls that were peeling before the new canvas. I am speaking from experience of course as I wouldn't say these things if I were not positive. And the new Monogram canvas is used across the board with all bags. No changes to Azur or Ebene have been made. Azur canvas has always felt thinner than the Momo and Ebene.

So the thinner canvas will be used on all monogram bags?! 😢 I had my heart set on getting the pochette metis. Do you think the issues will arise with that bag too?

You know I was told she thinks it was a bad batch of canvas! Even when I asked going all the way back to 2014 and she said possibly! The manager I dealt with was not the regular manager I have a relationship with as I expect to speak with her this following week when I visit again. The manager I saw claims it was the first time she seen or heard of it which I have a hard time believing! I told her I was concerned about the three bags I just purchased and she said she does not think anything will happen and if it did they would take care of me. I have no doubt about that but it's disheartening to say the least.

I say buy the bag and just know they will take care of it if something happens. The thing is it really seems like it's hit or miss on some and not others. Sorry probably not what you wanted to hear!

No that helps a lot. Thanks so much. It's actually annoying that some LV employees are denying any knowledge of peeling/cracking issues. You would think with a luxury goods company like Louis Vuitton that they would be on top of things like that. 😕

ITA! There's always going to be one place where the stitching is a bit wonky. And if they have to reinforce it, it can look a bit weird too--like on the tabs of the NF where they do the double stitch. I used to think it was a mistake but realized it's for durability.

According to an SA I spoke to this past week, it is not new canvas they are using but rather a new protective coating to prevent cracking...and this new coating is being used on all of the 3 canvases. She told me this info was in their LV newsletter.

When did they start using the new protective coating? thank you

Brought my Sully in (with the peeling issues), and the SA looked at it, horrified. He said if he had another one, he would exchange it out, which he did. He didn't bring my failing bag to the back, nor did he request another opinion. I was relieved! My only disappointment is that I bought the cross body vachetta strap with my original Sully, and after only a month, it had patina'd so much, there is a definite difference from the cross body strap and the vachetta on my new, exchanged Sully. Maybe they will catch up together soon.
