Art Deco Ring - Keep or Not?

I've been looking for an antique ring for ages, especially in this art deco kind of style. I went to a local jeweler yesterday and just fell for this ring (hard!), I decided to sleep on it and still wanted it in the morning.

I went with my mom last night and my best friend this morning - they both hated it. I think it's tainting how I feel about it, but having looked around I truly think it's different. I have 100 days to return it.

It's not expensive (<$500) and it's just white gold with .2 carats spread over 3 little diamonds.

Do you guys like it or have you seen something like it before?

I live in NYC now but I hardly ever make time to go to the diamond district. I'm sure there are lots of options but I just wanted some of you to weigh in on my mental debate.

I also bought it with grand plans to travel with it as a wedding band in a funky/alternative wedding band kind of way. I hate traveling with my good jewelry.

Oh what a great, unique ring-I really love it! Your Mom and BF may not understand and share the love that you do for a piece of jewelry that is classic art deco.

It's not everyone's taste-I own 2 auth art deco pieces myself-a ring and a watch that was my grandmother's-and love that vintage style. But I know that it may be 'ugly and old looking' to someone else!

What is important is that you like it, since you will be wearing it-Enjoy it!

It sounds like you love it, have lots of reasons to keep it, and didn't spend a ton of money on it. Be true to yourself. Keep it.

It's not my cup of tea, but I think it is a really unique and interesting piece and can see why it struck you. If it suits your style and you think you'll get a lot of mileage out of it (and obviously enjoy wearing it), keep it!
