I shop there way too often - but i can't help it because I love their stuff. On any given day I'm pretty much always wearing at least 1 item from them. I don't think they are over priced - they are one fo the few shops that makes clothes at that proce point that are from 100% natural fibers. Even Club Monaco and Banana republic can't state that lately.

Went to Aritzia for the boxing day sale yesterday. The sign outside the store said 50% off, but T-shirts were $4 off, jeans $5 off, and pants $20 off...what a joke. The clothes are so beautiful, but even with the $2 off "sale price", it's No Refunds, No Exchanges. Wow.

aritzia sales should barely be called a sale. I NEVER go in there boxing day , way to hectic and lines are way to long to save a measley 5 dollars .

I love this store but do agree their sales mostly suck! Once in a blue moon you can find something great on sale but most of the time you can count of paying full price for popular items. On a side note, I was there yesterday and they had J Brands for $150 and Rag & Bone for $125 which is a pretty good deal in Canada!

Yes their sales are really disappointing. I thought about buying a few things on sale now that they have online shopping, but I forgot it was final sale.

BUT 2 pairs of dress pants I bought before Christmas I went to exchange because the size the sales clerk recommended, upon inspection at home, was too small. One pair was marked from $150 to $115 and the other from $150 to $99-so I got quite a bit of money back!

Has anyone noticed their pant sizing has changed? I have 1 pair of dress pants there from 1.5-2 years ago that are a 6 and I still wear all the time-they're fitted with a bit of room. I went back and tried the same pair on (didn't realize they were in the pile the clerk bought me) and even the 8 was REALLY tight!! I ended up buying a 10 in both pairs of pants, and one pair only went UP to a size 10! That is atrocious! I understand they're catering to the very petite, but when someone who is normally a size 6 needs to buy a size 10, and that's the biggest size available....am I the only one who thinks that's wrong?

megan: that's like the opposite of Vanity Sizing!
Speaking of disappointing sales... TWO DOLLARS OFF! Man, I gotta get my arse down there to save that two bucks lickety-split! :doggie::rolleyes:

At first I thought I had gained weight without realizing! But after speaking to a few people "in the know" they all said that sizing now runs smaller this year than previously. They really do cater to a very specific body type and I think maybe that's what prompted this decision.

Yes I agree as well their sales are a joke. I like some of their stuff and own some, but what they sell is all very typical clothing you can get anywhere, so I have never really understood the hype. Maybe it is because (like someone has mentioned) Aritizia doesn't have much competition in Canada as we don't have much variety in clothing stores.

I also do think they are way overpriced.

I agree - for the specific style that Aritzia provides, there is not much competition and a lot of girls end up having the exact same items (guilty of this with my friends).

I try to find cheaper alternatives for their stylish items at Zara and for their basics, Club Monaco (which is still pricey but their sales are really good).

I still shop at Aritzia occasionally, mostly for their non-house items such as Rag & Bone jeans (although they are usually cheaper online). The thing that bothers me is that they often blatantly copy other designers but their prices are still relatively high. Also I hate having the same items as everyone else.

Yeah that's what the sales person told me. Well, she said that both the pants I bought they give to girls who find the 00/0 sizes too big because they fit so small, but I'm finding all the pants are like that. They're also cutting them more straight too-my old pants fit fine and I'm fairly pear shaped-but my new ones both will need to be taken in at the waist to fit properly.

But still, nobody larger than a size 6 can buy pants there? :S I understand cutting them small, that's fine, but you should at least carry to a size 12 or 14 like most stores do.

In Dallas, we have the only store in Texas, and it's not a very well known store, I sometimes wonder how do they manage to stay open, so a lot of things go on sale and get marked down a few times. I love the store because of the brands I find in there, that if I want them I have to go to a lot higher end boutiques in uptown and pay a lot more for them.

I have scored nice stuff for decent price, a few Vanessa Bruno Athe pieces, everynow and then you can buy a Margiela piece, I bought a dress and a skirt each around $50, which is really good deal as those are harder to find in a random store in the mall.
You can find Acne jeans for around $60-$80 on sale. Frequent sales on JBrand, but the price at Neimans or Saks at sale is usually better than Artizia.

But they also hold on to somethings, it's been 3 years that I have been shopping at this store and they have a stack of JBrand jeans (with paint marks on them) marked down to $90 and they don't get reduced any lower, you would think after three years they would drop the price to move the merchandise, but no!

So, since my Boxing Day rant, Aritzia did mark down quite a bit of their products post Boxing Day. Currently, I'm eyeing the Chevalier Jacket like a hawk. It's down to $100 down from $245. What do you guys think? Should I pounce on it or wait until it goes further down? Would it be sold out by then?? Did I mention that I want to get it in all three colours available (so the total would be a hefty $300+ tax; worth it)?

(Can anyone with a psychology/psychiatry degree evaluate and reassure me that I'm not going to become an unhappy debt-ridden cat-lady?)

I wouldn't get it in 3 colors since its a pretty popular item that a lot of people have. However, if you want it I'd pounce now since that's a great price and I doubt it will go much lower. Just remember all sale items are final sale including what's bought online.

Thanks. It's the Chevalier Jacket in Velvet. I'm not really fond of the crepe material, but the velvet is so beautiful and luxurious so I'm really pleased that it's gone down so much.

Originally I was going to get it during boxing day for $200...just one...but I'm glad I waited. Then it went down to $145, then $122.50, and at this point I wanted to get it after work one day but I was held up with overtime...so glad I got held up though because the next morning it went down to $100...Sigh...
I'm not that fond of the black color, so I might get it in the other two grey tones...although I feel that I should just suck it up and get it in black also since it's so "basic" and "would go with anything".

P.S. I really hope that the velvet trend lasts...IMO, velvet is more classic than trendy.
