I avoid the logo look, but still pick and choose when and where to wear my expensive items. If I'm not absolutely sure of my surroundings, I'll stick with Longchamp or Pacsafe. If a situation looks really dodgy, I'll be sure to carry very little and hide cash, cards, and keys on my person. This strategy has worked well for me...so far. Here's hoping it continues.

It’s not the thefts themselves that bother me (such as pickpocketing or loss of the item) it’s the violence associated with these robberies and follow-home burglaries that has me leaving my nice things at home.

I had a budget in mind for next year’s splurges but I’ve decided to forgo new purchases for awhile and use any disposable income on traveling and fine dining experiences instead.
I agree 100%. The other day I saw a video of a woman in an upscale neighborhood in L.A. pushing her baby in a stroller and she had just entered the gate of her home. She had been followed by two men with guns and they took the backpack; I hope that the backpack was filled with just diapers and snacks, that they went through all that and got nothing of value. How scary for her, especially with a baby.

I'm worried about carrying my LV bags but I'm also concerned about the car I drive. Theives have been placing air tags on luxury model cars so they can track them and then come and steal them. The thieves then know where you live and can come back for a home invasion.
I wish apple didn't put out these air tags.
Will your phone sense the air tag and let you know there is one nearby?

I think lots of things can make someone a target, not just the bag they're carrying. I wear my luxury bags when I go out, but I exercise maximum caution, especially during holiday periods when more thefts seem to occur. During the past year or so (because of the Covid) I switched from using regular sized bags to much much smaller crossbodies and mini bags just to seem less interesting to thieves -I imagine my micro bag is less interesting to a thief than something larger and filled with stuff.
