Are we carrying fewer cards?

I don't own a wallet as I never have any cash with me. But my cardholder has only 5 slots so that limits me a lot. I only have my credit card, bonus card for my nearby grocery store, driver's license and social security (?) card. Many stores can add their reward cards to my driver's license, which is good so that I don't have to have tons of different cards with me.

I have a total of eight which is the most I have ever carried - ID (non-driver), two kinds of insurance, debit card, two credit cards and two loyalty cards. I hate an "empty" looking wallet too so I used to use a LV ZCP and put two cards in each of the four slots. I have a LV Clemence now (eight card slots) because I I don't like folding cash. I do see a lot of people with 20 or more cards though.

+1 with the rewards cards! WAY too many!!! I like it when they just use your phone #. Drives me nuts keeping tracking of all those cards. I need to look into an app for that, like BC mentioned.

++1!

Drugstore, bubble tea place, clothing store, bookstores, sushi place, Sephora, etc, etc. :p

Some stores are really strict about showing your card in person, others can access your membership information based on your identification details (ID, phone number, etc).

I'm finding that even if I keep the cards in the slots, when I fish them out I never put them back in their original slot and just dump them in my wallet (Always rushing after paying, lol). I probably need a dedicated card holder.

I know the question was not directed towards me, but let me answer it anyway- KEYRING!!! :D

I love Keyring app. I used to be one of those people who carried 20+ reward cards around because it would just bug the heck out of me if I had the opportunity to use it- get points or discounts or whatever, but I couldn't because I didn't have the reward card on me. And you never know when you will be going where, so... heavy wallet

Of course, that doesn't happen anymore as long as I have my phone! Keyring is so awesome. All you have to do is scan the barcode on the reward card. For the cards that don't have barcode, you just take pics or type in the numbers.

I don't even bother using a long wallet anymore ever since I started using Keyring! I just use a compact wallet or coin purse so I can use a teeny tiny bag if I want to.

I also use this app, though not regularly. I started also trying to add whatever cards I can into Passbook or AppleWallet or whatever it's called now. Some won't work in that. But I do add it wherever possible. I use ApplePay whenever I can, though, because then I am not fishing for a card or pulling my wallet out. I wish Costco would add that option lol

i only carry debit, 2 credit cards, id and 3 subway card. Cause i have some money left on each of them. :girlsigh:
When i was carrying big wallets it was full rewards cards, receipts and change. And it was very heavy.
Now just small small card case is working great for me.

I was just thinking about this as I need to replace my card holder. I thought about getting a wallet but don't see a reason to. I only carry one check for oddball retailers who need one (no checkbook). I can't think of anything else to carry in a wallet unless it's a one off receipt to return something. I'm a minimalist and a neat freak. I don't like a lot of "stuff".

I carry 7 cards: my drivers license, charge card, credit card, debit card, insurance card, HSA card, auto club card. So I need a minimum of 6 slots (I can leave the HSA card home most of the time or put it in with the cash) I also carry cash and the one check.

I don't carry store rewards cards because the few I need are on mini cards on my key chain.

I don't use apps like Apple wallet. I guess I could. But even if I did, I'd need some sort of card case until drivers licenses and insurance cards make the leap.

definitely not, I have quite a few cards, and use them all. It varies which I use depending on which will give me the most points [or Platinum on the days I need to be "unlimited" in what I can spend]

In addition to credit cards, I have a lot of loyalty/other cards. This wallet has the most slots I could find, however, for it to truly fit my needs I would need 4 additional slots on the credit card side, and about 8 on the loyalty/other card side.

Ugh I carry so many cards!

2 business credit cards
2 personal credit cards
1 driver's license
2 museum admission cards
1 medical insurance card
1 Starbucks gift card
1 bank pass code card
2 slots for business cards

I also have a mini chanel bifold wallet with 6 card slots and 2 slip pockets. 2 of the slots are empty. Just my license, 2 debit cards and a credit card. I do have another hermes mini wallet for gift cards. I have tons of gift cards. I got rid of reward cards a while ago by putting them all on the keyring app, which I absolutely love and recommend.
