Are we carrying fewer cards?

Which app do you use?

I know the question was not directed towards me, but let me answer it anyway- KEYRING!!! :D

I love Keyring app. I used to be one of those people who carried 20+ reward cards around because it would just bug the heck out of me if I had the opportunity to use it- get points or discounts or whatever, but I couldn't because I didn't have the reward card on me. And you never know when you will be going where, so... heavy wallet

Of course, that doesn't happen anymore as long as I have my phone! Keyring is so awesome. All you have to do is scan the barcode on the reward card. For the cards that don't have barcode, you just take pics or type in the numbers.

I don't even bother using a long wallet anymore ever since I started using Keyring! I just use a compact wallet or coin purse so I can use a teeny tiny bag if I want to.

There is a UK app called Stocard but most of the shops can't scan from your phone and I doubt the merchants would be happy to manually type the number, especially in busy periods.

Several businesses up here have a system where they only need to scan your ID to access your info. That's saved my from lugging an even bigger pile of cards around...

I don't have any loyalty cards, I just carry 1 debit card and 2 cc's. other slots are my drivers licence, nhs card, library card, and car breakdown so that's 7 slots altogether. I'm staggered sometimes at the number of cards some people carry around with them, I don't think I could keep track of my money!

I don't have any loyalty cards either because I'll shop wherever is nearest or on the Internet. Also I don't find their offers are any that would be of interest to me. Sometimes a store will offer you one, to receive a discount, but it's just another credit card. My credit card supports the RSPCA so I use it as much as possible for that reason. Also for the card protection too although I recently found out if you pay by PayPal you lose that protection.

It varies...
Hometown- drivers, 2xdebit, boots and sainsburys.
London- plus Oyster, liberty and harrods.
Hongkong-id x2, bank cardsx2, Octopus... 0 loyalty cards here.
I try to use my bank cards as little as possible, I adore cash.

I put my most used cards in one small flat case and the others (about 6) in a zip-round. That means I have the 2 easily to hand and the others safe for 'just in case'.

They're very light anyway compared to say my umbrella, notebook, change purse etc. It's good to have some cash, for markets, cafes I don't know too well, taxis, smaller charity shops and boutiques. For me the issue is more about weight than space, and seriously 8 little cards don't take up hardly any space.

+1 I use keyring

There's also apps for some of the other loyalty ones, a common one here is fivestars.

For the shops (usually small ones) that do stamp cards, I leave them in my car then grab one when I'm heading in. No need to lug them around daily.

I adore cash, too. :)
It goes away too quickly. :(
Which finds me pondering register total--rummaging through wallet, confused.

Sometimes type of currency changes, when I stagger out of airplanes.

Both scenarios, cards save my a$$. ;)

I still carry about same amount of cards.
Normal wallet slots suffice.

I'm definitely carrying less cards due to the Stocard app! Works a treat though as others have mentioned you need phone battery but as I carry a charger doesn't bother me. It's faster than sorting through all my cards anyway :)

I used to carry a really small card case until my husband got us two pre-paid credit cards. I switch out between a small MK wallet and a Coach passport holder (didn't know it at the time). To be honest, I really love those two, but I don't like the bulk. I'm looking into getting a men's wallet just for that reason.
I usually carry 2pre-paid credit cards, debit card, driver's license, insurance card, Starbucks gift card, BJs Warehouse card, and my thrift store loyalty card.

I keep a separate pouch for my store rewards cards, and I also have a coin purse.

Awesome! Thanks I'm totally going to check that out! I'm totally with you... hate lugging them around, but don't want to be without in case I stop at that store. Some will just take your phone#, but I'm not sure about the others. Is it a free app? I have an iPhone.

It's free for Androids, but I'm not sure for iPhones. Most likely it is free for iPhones as well- but I have seen some apps that are free for Androids but not for iOS for some reason, so... :shrugs: worth checking out!

In the US anyway, most places seem to be able to scan the barcode- or they have a system where you just type in your phone number. So lugging around loyalty card is becoming more and more a thing of a past- which is good for me since I only use a small wallet!
