Are these veins normal?

some excellent advice
all focussing on what you personally like being the most important issue

just to help you understand your reaction
could you work out what it is that you do not like about veining

is it as simple as the mere thought of veins and skin makes you shudder?
that would be more fundamental than an aesthetic consideration
is it something to do with perceived quality?
is it the lack of uniformity?

all those differences considerations will impact upon your long term feelings about the bag

regardless of your personal reaction, it it clear that this bag has been much admired by all the posters

I am personally not a big fan of veining but the veins on your bag look very symmetrical and I like them. But as mentioned before…this is your bag and it does not matter if others like it or not.

The veining makes your bag (and all togo bags) unique, one of a kind. My 35 togo has no veining, but my 30 does.
I like veining and it reminds me of rivers across a landscape. You have a gorgeous bag, by the way!
I didn’t like how veining looks on pics and I’ve never seen it in real life before I got B30 in Barenia Faubourg. The first thing I noticed when SA took the bag out of box was veining. But I immediately fell in love with it because I now I see how it does make a bag unique. I doubt there are a fake bag made with veining

I'm astounded you just noticed now such veins.
They are extremely visible.
May I ask if you got the bag at H or at a 3rd party ?
(I understand that at H you must have been at 7th heaven getting an offer, not seeing every detail)
I wouldn't keep it personally as I seek uniform smooth leathers, and I don't know why in the back of my mind veins equal low quality.
You could just keep the bag on your table until the last return day and see if your uncomfort changes.
Do you know whether your SA could find you an unveined one ?
I guess that could be easily done.
It was a spontaneous offer from the boutique and I didn't know that 'veining' existed on Togo until now. I already sent back for an exchange after giving some thoughts, I am in the shoes/accesoories industry so I know veins should be avoided to be minimal during the pattern-making process (even for the lower cost lines) however by doing so, the more veins on the leather, the more will disposed. I totally agree with you, I tried but I couldn't convince myself to love it, even it is a classic Birkin.

I love the veining! But YOU should love it and if you’re on the fence I would consider returning. Especially if the veins are all you will see. Too much money to be unsure
Thank you for the feedback. I already sent it back for an exchange yesterday. I don't mind some minimal veining, but the the lines on this one are from top to bottom...they are especially visible under day lights..I couldn't convince myself to accept them;(

Definitely the right move then!! An even better offer will come next. Good for you on not settling

I normally don't return/exchange things I buy but I ended up sending this one back for an exchange...and requested for a less veined one...I understand it is impossible to avoid veins on togo, but I am hoping for one that is less prominent.

You did the right thing !
Are you seeking Togo again ?
Because otherwise just ask for another leather, with Taurillon Clémence you'll never ever meet a vein

How did your SA take this news? Returning a quota bag, especially for a non-defect reason, is usually the kiss of death for a relationship…

LOL Of course he tried to convince me that this is normal and that mine isn't the worse one he has seen lately, but he 'seemed' like he took it professionally when I insisted (I might be wrong). He said I am not the first one.

Also I sent it back for an exchange because I was told refund is not allowed for quota bags.
Hopefully this will work out smoothly...;(

Refund is not allowed for any purchase made at Hermes store I believe. You can refund for store credit only. Online purchases are exceptions.

Yes I am seeking Togo again (it doesn't have to be zero-vein, but a less visible one). At first I was told exchange can only made for an Epson as he tried to convince me to keep the one on hand. But I made myself crystal clear that Epson is not an option. I also made a request for TC but unfortunately I was told TC is very rare in my country. Hopefully it will works out smoothly...
