Are these veins normal?

Yes entirely normal.

Some people dislike it. Some people don’t mind it. Some people actually love it as a characteristic of this leather (I remember whole threads dedicated to people sharing and enjoying the veins of their bags). Some bags happen to have more obvious veins than others and it’s all normal.

Functionally there is nothing wrong. Aesthetically it’s all personal taste. Since this is your bag, your own preference should be what matters. If it is not what you want & bothers you to the extent that you won’t be able to like/enjoy the bag, then I say do what makes you happy and return it. If not, enjoy your beautiful bag!

Thank you for the feedback and I totally agree. Will the veins fades over time or become less pronounce?

I'm astounded you just noticed now such veins.
They are extremely visible.
May I ask if you got the bag at H or at a 3rd party ?
(I understand that at H you must have been at 7th heaven getting an offer, not seeing every detail)
I wouldn't keep it personally as I seek uniform smooth leathers, and I don't know why in the back of my mind veins equal low quality.
You could just keep the bag on your table until the last return day and see if your uncomfort changes.
Do you know whether your SA could find you an unveined one ?
I guess that could be easily done.

Got it;) I will give it a few more looks and see if I can get over it ....
It’s a matter of personal taste. If you don’t like it you just don’t like it.
I think it’s a beautiful bag, and I think the veins in the leather are a natural feature, just as the scale size variations on a croc bag are. But don’t be persuaded. If you don’t like it, exchange it, someone will snap it up!

Very normal. One of the first things I learned about Togo while researching was about the veining. Initially I decided I didn’t like the veins and wouldn’t want togo because they looked like stretch marks. However, I prefer the feel of Togo over epsom which were my first two options. Now 2 loved veined togo b’s later I don’t notice them at all since I’m not walking around carrying my bag staring at them. Kinda like I don’t walk around looking at my stretch marks :P

If you can’t get passed the veins return it. Start researching leathers that you do prefer to avoid having to return another Birkin :amazed:
