Are there any David Yurman fans here?

Just want you all to know, that the quality of David Yurman has gone down and that they are now producing the bulk of their goods overseas. They do not have strong quality control, their manufacturers buy their own materials which allows them to hide many flaws in the diamonds and colored stones.

I suspect that there will be a continued decline in their product as they continue to only focus on the least expensive materials and manufacturing process to yield them the highest profit.

The companies only concern is their profit not their quality nor your satisfaction.

I would not recommend buying their product.

Hi all, I just wanted to share the experience I had today.

For reference, I own the David Yurman 18k gold petite albion ring with garnet. I received it for my birthday last April. To be honest, it is probably the finest ring I own, craftsmanship-wise. It feels like butter to slip on my finger and the weight of the gold is impressively heavy.

I was at Bloomingdales today with my fiance and we were looking at the David Yurman display together and a very nice saleswoman was showing us some pieces. I was trying on a silver and garnet bracelet and they happened to have my ring on display. So of course I asked to try it on with the bracelet to see how they looked together.

The first thing I noticed about the 18k gold petite albion ring they had on display was that the weight of the ring was not as heavy as the one I owned. Secondly, the way the ring felt when I put it on was very unlike the ring I own. The twisted cable bands felt thin and therefore felt like they dug into my finger, which was completely the opposite of the ring I own, which doesn't dig at all because of the thickness of the cables.

My concern is that David Yurman is using less gold in his designs due to the high price of it. To be honest, the quality in the ring I tried on today was far from that of the actual ring that was purchased for me last April. My fiance is very knowledgeable about jewelry and he noticed the difference right away. He mentioned to me later that if this had been the quality ring he viewed as a sample when buying mine, he would not have been impressed.

It seemed as if the silver version of the ring also used less material to match the 18k version.

I'm not sure if this was just the batch that the store received or if this is something that is affecting all newer jewelry from the David Yurman line but I thought everyone should be aware.

So in conclusion:

My David Yurman ring quality =
David Yurman ring quality in store =
Wow, thank u for the heads up! I was interested in a couple pieces... And now I know to be even more cautious!

Hi! I want to buy a yurman necklace and ring and was wondering if you like to match your yurman jewelry, for example, My bracelet has a blue topaz center stone, should I get a blue topaz necklace and ring. Or would you get different stones!?

I was given the David Yurman Blue Topaz color classic drop earrings, which were very pretty, but the problem was, I do not like big earrings. I felt bad not keeping them since the gift meant a lot from my mother in law, but she was fine with a return. After all she wanted to get me a bracelet first, but my husband did not know my size. I never was interested in David Yurman jewelry because I thought it was all large stones and twisted silver rope like design. She could not get a refund, so an exchange was the only option. I found something more my taste. I selected the chain necklace with pearls. Here are pictures of the original earrings, and my new necklace. I also stopped by Tiffany's to pick up a pair of pearl earrings to match. It was a great Christmas for me!

I prefer the necklace, too. Gorgeous...suits you to a tee! The clasp makes it!!!

Very nice!!!!!
I like that pearl necklace and the various options you have to wear it!
That necklace will definitely take you a lot of places. I think you made the right decision to exchange your earrings. I find pearls suit a lot of different outfits for a lot of different venues!
Congrats on a lovely set!!!!
