Comments if any: It would be my dreaaam to have a Hermes.. But this seems a bit too perfect. I haven't seen this style of bag before and it almost looks as if they merged two pictures together? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Welcome!

This bag has nothing to do with Hermes, it is a made up invention.

Hi all

I would greatly appreciate help verifying a birkin bag.

I have read the forum rules so hope I am complying.

I am currently in Japan and after doing a lot of research including tpf(thank you all for amazing contributions) I wanted to surprise my wife and bought a birkin 35cm Togo leather. I don't know much about them save for the fact my wife aspires to get one.

After some reading I bought an orange one from daikokuya. I k ow they are legit but obviously wanted to double check.

I have consulted mr google and there are a few things of concern after reading this guide:

http://bagbible.com/blog/how-to-spot-a-fake/hermes/

Basically I feel the bag meets all the criteria except for the 3 photos I posted here (sorry these were iPhone shots). My main concerns are:

1. The Hermes stamp has the word 'Hermes' in slightly thicker font and the accent on the 'E' looks like a blob rather than a clean accent. The website above showed a fake stamp that looks the same :(

2. The engraving on the metal hardware - the letters seem a bit far apart and again this is mentioned on above website

3. The 'date stamp' on the strap is faint and I read real date stamps should be deep and easily visible. It has a 'H' so I assume its 2004. Next to the H is the letter 'B' other than that there are no other markings. Isn't it supposed to have some numbers for the craftsman ID?

I haven't supplied further photos cos the rest of the bag seems real but just wanted advice about whether any of the above are definite signs of fake.

I've spent hours looking at yoogis closet, let trsde, komehyo and brand off and it seems even what they sell vary in terms of stamping, date stamps and hardware lettering.

Thanks so much for your help ( and yes I am freaking out a bit)

Thanks again!!!

Comments: I posted this few days ago but some pictures weren’t displayed properly on the listing and one of the authenticators told me that although she had no concerns, she needed more pictures to authenticate the bag properly. The listing is now ended but I bought the bag. I attached required pictures below. Could you please make an exception (because the listing ended) and look at this again? Thank you in advance.

Welcome, I can appreciate that for a man this whole thing can be rather challenging.

First off, let me say that I dont really recommend reading all the guides one finds out there. They can sow more seeds of confusion actually. And lead people to conclude erroneously that there are problems with a bag.

I am terribly sorry, but as a rule here we dont comment on closed auctions. The Japanese sites in my experience are pretty reputable.

I am very sorry, but the rule on this thread is that we comment on auctions or sales before they are concluded.

Hi thank you for taking the time to reply.

Do you have any other advice on what I can do. I'm only in Tokyo for another 2 days and as crazy as this may sound I'm actually considering getting concierge to contact the police so I can take this bag back for a refund. But I didn't want to do this if the bag is real and certai ly hoping to avoid the drama.

I've tried to avoid bothering people here by doing my own research for hours and have even tried to google 'Japan fake Hermes.' You're right there doesn't seem to be much on the Internet about Japanese fake designer brands (except for some elaborate counterfeit ring a few years back)

I totaly respect the rules and dont want to compromise the integrity of this useful website and comunity but is there anyway to make an exception to help me out? I've literally sat here repeatedly refreshing the page over and over again hoping for a response.

All I really need to know is whether any of the original photos shown above are clear signs of a fake. I don't need anyone to say that it's real because I know I haven't given enough info to make this decision. I'm also happy for a 'cannot say because not enough info' because that would at least mean I'm just being paranoid about the above stuff.

Thanks again and please reconsider helping me.

PS. I bought this from an actual daikokuya store and not online. And those are my own photos.

No they don't look fake.

It's a bit puzzling to me that someone would make such a large purchase, ask questions after, and then not be willing to either abide by the few rules here or pay for an authentication. My answer would be that you haven't provided enough information to authenticate this bag.

Thank you a million times over!!!! My wife will be so happy!!!

You should not consider that my response was a confirmation of authenticity on a bag I have not seen. If you just put up three pictures I have a view about those pictures by themselves, but they are not a bag.

I agree 100% with Mistikat's comment. It's a lot of money to spend based on a couple of pictures you post here, which are not even connected to a bag.

Hi

I'm really sorry if I upset you. I didn't know about tpf till I started getting worried about the authenticity of the bag. In fact I don't know much about these bags at all except the look on my wife's face when she gets this would really light up the room.

I must admit perhaps I was a bit naive to spend so much money but the Japanese stores were everywhere and I thought surely it wouldn't be allowed to have stores everywhere selling fakes. But then it occurred to me that these stores may not be deliberately selling fakes but maybe they might have one slip through the cracks now and then.

That's when I started the whole research thing and ended up here. I didn't even know you can have authentication processes till tpf let alone paid services. But I do know now after clicking bababebi's website.

I might have been hasty when I read the sticky rules but it didn't say anything about post sales authentication. Unless I made a mistake and misread it or am doing a 'boy look.'

Again, I want to apologize for any trouble I've caused and I do sincerely believe the tpf community is a great one and to volunteer free support is a wonderful thing.

Thank you for your reply. This has truly been a life lesson for me.

Take care and all the best!
