Bababei very kindly answered my initial question about the authenticity of this kelly in post#7050.

Then a friend of mine just pointed out the fact that this bag comes with a strap and a Kelly this old (R in a circle) normally does not come with a shoulder strap. Also the edge of the strap with craftperson's stamps is sort of round rather than square-ish with sharp edges (am I making sense here)... I completely trust Bababei's judgement but her remarks sort of threw me.

Are they considered to be a red flag?

There is no mention or picture of any strap in your request on Page 469, so I do not know anything about the strap. If you have a strap, probably it isnt original to the bag.

Looking at the pictures of the Kelly again, I remain of the opinion that it is an authentic Kelly.

There are no pictures of the interior or the back of the straps. There is no mention of a missing blind stamp in the description of the bag. I would have expected complete disclosure at this price point.

If I bought this and it arrived missing a blind stamp I would be pretty mad if I didnt expect, understand and accept that in advance.

Maybe all is fine, but I cant say.

This is an authentic bag. It has been re-dyed as the seller points out, not by Hèrmes. Please look at the pictures carefully for other flaws. It has lost its shape, due to the soft leather of which it is made, and the use it has had since 2002. I think there are better examples out there for a little bit more money if you are ready to be patient..
