Hi Mistikat,

The seller believes the bag is authentic and has dropped it off at the boutique to get it refurbished so a craftsman can authenticate it. She will call me to meet at the Hermes boutique when it comes back from the spa in a few weeks. If it gets serviced, it must be authentic, right?! Or do you think I shouldn't bother waiting for her phone call since you've noticed major flaws on the photos? I'm so grateful for your help!!

There are several things in the photos you posted which appear inconsistent with an authentic bag, in my opinion. I would also never buy anything like this off CraigsList but your risk tolerance may be higher than mine.

ETA: I'm assuming this is the listing:

I don't see anything here that would change my opinion. (Seller also describes this as mint .... )

Thank you for such an immediate reply, Mistikat! From the photos, I'm not expecting it in mint condition but it looks like its in pretty good condition. But my most important concern is authenticity. If the H boutique refurbishes (via spa) it, then it must be authentic right? I'll be at the H boutique to pick it up with the seller. The seller doesnt expect me to pay anything until a craftsman authenticates it. I'm not risking anything, right? If it is fake, they will not service it and not charge me for the spa. Win win, right?! I will keep you posted to let you know the outcome!

I agree with Mistikat. This bag is not authentic and I think it is in horrible condition. Did you not see that there has been re-stitching and it isn't even in black thread and it is blue? That alone would send that bag out the door of any Hermes boutique even if it was authentic, which this is not. It you want to believe the seller, that is your choice and your money to throw away. Your choice.

Bunniebonbons - please listen to the ladies who authenticate here on tPF. Take your time and learn. I was in a similar position to you not so long ago, but I read the threads, studied the photos and learnt just a little bit more every day.

Misti, Baba and Grace - Merry Christmas. :smile1:

Merry Christmas to you too, Aliena!

Hi gacekelly!

I appreciate your input! :) I'm not going to believe the seller but will believe the authenticity after recieving it when it comes back from the spa. I haven't paid a dime or gave anyone my credit card information, yet. If it's not authentic, the seller will get notified that Hermes won't service her bag and the H boutique won't charge me for refurbishing the bag. No risk, right?

You seem set on getting this bag. Good luck.

Comments: This guy doesn't sell luxury bags and sells a bunch of other random stuff at really low prices..

Frankly the sellers feedback for the assorted items sold makes me rather hesitant about recommending this bag at all. However I do not see any problem issues in the images presented, either originally, or the additional ones posted.
