The concept is very interesting. If I could use the telephone function without actually carrying my phone, I might get it.

You can but it's speaking through speakerphone on the watch. It's really clear, but obviously not all circumstances are appropriate for speaking on the phone with speakerphone.

I've tried taking a call through my Bluetooth headphones and it still came up as speakerphone. I'm not sure if you would be able to make it work with Bluetooth headphones with a mic. Mine don't have a mic.

Very interesting! Does the watch work for calls or texts when you are not near the iPhone? I would love to use it if my husband needs to reach me while I am jogging and leave my phone in the car.

nope, sadly, your phone needs to be around you (I'm guessing 350 ft?) or on the same wi fi network, which can make the range bigger. Here's a good article that explains it better than I can

Supposedly you can leave phone in pocket or purse and talk to the watch. I could not get the one I had to do it.

Thank you for the info. I'm still gonna wait for the technology to be better and more advance.

I solved that problem. There is a little gizmo (also sold at Target) called Ditto that clips to your bra that vibrates when your phone goes off.
On the days I want to wear a pretty watch I just clip it on and I still know when the phones going off. It doesn't send messages or anything like that but it's nice to keep my pretty watches in rotation.

I haven't purchased the watch yet, but I did order a Ditto because I never hear my phone ring when it's in my bag, I hope it works as I miss so many calls.............

I use the phone function all the time. I bicycle a lot and I don't have to stop and get my phone out of where I have it stashed to answer. I can hear and be heard without even taking my hands off the handle bars. I also love the activity function. It tells me my heart rate, mph, distance, and time with a lift of the wrist.
I'm a fan!
I'm also a stay at home mom and I don't have to carry my phone around the house so that I don't miss calls. I answer on my watch.

Here's mine! Rose gold 38mm and I love it :)
I keep mine in my bag and use it or I am actually able to go into the neighbouring room when at work and still get notifications.
I find my speaker on the watch too muffled is it a fault that I haven't noticed? I can hardly hear it when I make calls so gave up!

I haven't been to yoga class in about 5 months. When I went last week, I noticed half the class has an Apple Watch. The yoga instructor even controlled the music with her watch too! Still loving mine and using it daily!
