My Tiffany SA told me that it was better to buy the Gold over the Sterling Silver due to the gold being a better value.

Yes, I see your point. But I like yellow Gold better period especially since they make so much rose gold and have so much rose gold in stock :-s and Tiffany seems to discontinued a lot faster than sterling silver. I'm always finding items in yellow gold that are on the way to being discontinued or retired. And Tiffany's has been making their jewelry in general thinner too especially their Tiffany charms.
