Anyone with a VCA watch? Is it worth getting?

but even then you would only know the hour, not the minute, correct?

I love watches, jewellery watches, impractical watches... but I do want my watch to also tell me the time, else it's just a wind-up bracelet.
Yeah I couldn't see a way that it would tell the minute. Maybe meant to be more of a work of art? It's also quite pricey, I think my SA said around $270k.

That's AT LEAST a zero too rich for my blood.

But no, really, if I paid TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS for a watch; it not only better give me the time down to the nanosecond; but also tuck me in bed and tell me a bedtime story so I can fall asleep at night and make me a mimosa or twenty in the morning (so I can wash away the memory of paying 270k for a watch).

It is STUNNING though. I don't have a VCA local to me and I've never seen any of these watches up close, but I remember seeing a watch (online) that had the figure of a couple meeting over a bridge (they would move closer and closer every hour, meeting at the 12 mark, if I remember correctly). Also a simply stunning work of art.

Yes, Lady Arpels Pont des Amoureux, that one is my favorite. The have different colors for the seasons, too, but I do like the original one best.

If I remember correctly from IG, there is an electronic display at the side where you can tell the minutes. Then for the hours, the flowers will open and close a certain number of times according to the hour. So err don’t sneeze or blink when that happens lol

But if it’s, idk, 3:15 when I look at my watch, I can see it’s 15 minutes past the hour… but I don’t know which hour?

Again, gorgeous watch, stunning work of art… but about as practical as church bells.

I guess when you have that much money to spend on a watch, you have time (these days, it's more likely that you don't, but oh well). The other watch, the pont des amoureux, one of the characters is for the hours, the other one for the minutes. It makes a lot more sense.

Thinking about pulling the trigger for this watch but I’m unsure! It’ll be my first timepiece. Could yall share if the sweet Alhambra watch in rose gold/mop face is a great first timepiece?

This watch is beautiful! The first time I went into a VCA boutique was to treat myself to a pair of YG Guilloche earrings. I also bought the YG Sweet Alhambra watch (with the cobalt blue band). I very much like the face on the watch you are considering. The hands are easier to read against the WMOP. (My watch has gold hands on a gold face so I sometimes need to look at it at a slight angle to read it. It doesn’t bother me but it is something to consider.) I also very much like the interchangeable watch bands. This means I can wear my watch with most of my outfits. You will get one extra band of your choice with the purchase of this watch. The burgundy with YG is very elegant.

If you are looking at a YG watch I think this Perlee 23mm watch is also lovely. The Guilloche on the WMOP watch face is unusual and shows the hands clearly. I actually just took the plunge on this watch in RG and couldn’t be happier. VCA makes versions with a Black Onyx or a YG Guilloche watch face that use the same interchangeable straps.

Please post what you decide to do!

Thank you for your thoughtful reply!! ❤️ I have my eyes on the piece I tried on. Yes, I tried the sweet Alhambra watch with Guilloche face. With the hands being gold as well, it takes a little more effort to tell the time. Will try on the perlee collection next time, thank you for the suggestion!

I will update what I decide! Looking to get them in November ☺️❤️

I tried these on two weeks ago while DH and I were walking around Boston; he really liked both of them (and the Blue Agate for him [cough, cough, us]). Might take another look when we go to our home boutique this afternoon.

I have the RG/PMOP Sweet Alhambra Watch. It makes me happy. It’s subtle and pretty. I think it’s because of the pink mother of pearl. I tried the RG/Carnelian combination when it first came out but the PMOP looked much better against my skin. My husband encouraged me to get it to mark the wonderful relationship I have with my three young granddaughters. It is dressier than my other watches so I don’t wear it often. But I always think of my granddaughters when I do.
