I was looking for the sweet Alhambra white gold diamond earrings. Visited the VCA boutique in Kyoto yesterday without appointment ( I arrived when they opened at 10am) and they have 1 pair in stock. They are willing put it on hold for me to think about it for a few days. Very friendly staff overall.
When asked about availability on 5 motif bracelets, they only have the ones in diamonds ( vintage sizes). Overall prices in japan is lower then the states plus tax refund so it’s pretty good deal!

Hi all, Is it still worth visiting the Tokyo stores as I have not secured an appointment in any of the 7 stores when I am there next week?
I'm heading to Japan today  but made appt to 2 Tokyo stores, Osaka & Kyoto. I'm after a 5m Bracelet but I'm not putting my hopes up . I think it's still worth visiting the stores but set no expectations & be prepared to Q up also from what I read it's not the same stores experience as what you get from your local stores.

For tax /vat refund, do you only get this when you buy new from boutique or also from any preloved stores like Komehyo, BrandOff or Gemma??? Ta
Yes - I purchased from Komehyo last month and they do offer tax refund. please remember to take your passport along. Note the refund won't be 10%, as they deduct processing fees from your refund. Perhaps the total refund be like 8-7%.

I purchased from Komehyo last December and they also provide tax/vat refund.
I also just purchased from Komehyo (Onyx Pure Alhambra necklace) for a really great price...I paid around $2500 for excellent condition (looks brand new in person) and didn't have to pay any customs fees. The Japanese preloved market truly is a treasure trove of hard to get designer items.
The Komehyo store in Shinjuku is like a Wonderland of barely used designer bags, clothes and jewelry. I highly recommend making a pit stop there when in Tokyo.

Yes, Komehyo really is a hidden gem for shoppers. They also have a lot of limited edition Holiday Pendants available for a good price.

If you cannot find VCA in Komehyo, I suggest you to visit other similar stores such as Brand Off, Okura Vintage, Yukizaki Gem Castle, and Betty Road at Nakano Broadway. Best of luck in finding your VCA piece.

I went to the Shinjuku branch in 2019 and bought a discontinued Tiffany diamond horse shoe necklace. The VCA necklace I bought through their online eBay store recently. I think I remember seeing VCA at the Shinjuku store but that was almost 5 years ago…
