Anyone shop in Japan recently?

I was in Japan in March/April 2024 and the pricing of VCA items were indeed lower than the US (around 20-55% less). I think there was a price increase / adjustment in Japan around early June 2024 hence the pricing has 'adjusted' to be comparable to the US pricing.

the price includes tax and no you cannot get 10% off as a foreigner if you purchase online. you can only get the tax refund in the boutiques

First thing is you need to make an appointment first. There are a lot of tourists, and without booking, it maybe hard to see stocks.

I bought a ginza edition necklace with rosegold. They did not post this in the website but it this is bigger than vintage but smaller than magic size, only available in Ginza Tokyo. Name of product is still “magic” even though it is not quite Magic size. I think they have some stocks now SA told me they just got a shipments. It is rare item, recommend to anyone. Only sells in Tokyo according to SA. Good luck!

SA info would not matter for at least tokyo stores,, bc you have to make a reservation through public website or you have to go early in the morning before shop opening and lined up to get in. I tried to make an appt and unable to find a spot, so I ended up for going to shop early, 15 mins before shop open and there were still a quite of people lined up. However, i feel like Ginza masion store has “less” people then Ginza sixth. Good luck.

It is MOP! Ive heard this item only sell in ginza masion store in tokyo but I may mis understood from SA. I think after tax refund (which they just take 10 off right away) about 3100ish USD. I cant remember exact yen. Considering magic is closed to 5k with tax in US, I think this is really good deal and rare item.

I love these flagship pendants! I have the HK one - carnelian in rose gold and yes it's not quite magic size (I compared it to the magic pendant at the boutique) but really nice for daily

Bigger than VA but smaller than magic took me multiple trips to the boutique because I wanted a vibrant red colored stone. My SA told me they receive about 1-2 pendants a month so if you're ever visiting HK, might have a higher chance of buying than in Japan. The MOP is lovely though especially in RG
