As an interior/landscape designer, I am a HUGE fan of using Hermes scarves to decorate walls Here’s a couple examples of them in my own house. I love the ability to switch them out to change the whole look of a place!

There's a thread on this forum (I'm not sure where -you'll need to search) on how to make a DIY hanging system using readily available materials from a craft store such as Michel's - it's really quite a clever design project at a fraction of the cost of the H-system.

@BritAbroad shared how one could DIY the Fixation here and @JRTgal shared how to DIY hang/frame her silk here using canvas frame. @LadyCupid hung her silk using magnets here.

Hi, I ended up framing my jersey and it turned out awesome! I ordered a custom frame w/ acid free foam core backing, size determined by measuring scarf on all sides. I centered the scarf on the acid free foam core then using flat head pins I lightly stretched the scarf and pinned on the edge of the foam core backing. I know many will literally pass out when they hear I pinned an Hermes scarf, however, I do not ever plan on removing from the frame. I love love love how my framed scarf turned out! Let me know if you need help:smile: View attachment 4770365View attachment 4770366View attachment 4770365View attachment 4770366
This looks so beautiful!
We have framed H scarves for our home too but we’ve had some luck just sandwiching the scarf between the glass and acid free backing. We change them out with the seasons so it’s been easy to switch out. Anyway it hasn’t seemed to hurt them at all. :)

Hi friends,

I have an empty wall in my master bath that needs some artwork but I just can't seem to find the right piece so I figure, why not frame a scarf. I want the scarf to be in a grey colorway and I'd rather not buy a new one. I have two 70cm silk jersey (fluide) scarfs that would work but I'm wondering if they'd be suitable for framing. I can see it being tricky. Can anyone provide tips and pointers as I'm clueless on this.

And because the canvasses were 2 for 1...one for the guest room: 'Pavois'

Hope you enjoy...I'm pretty pleased, if I do say so myself. I'm a girl that loves a project!
This is genius!
I was slowly getting resigned to purchasing an H scarf system but not only the cost is very high (1.5 scarf units!), the thing is not even available either in store nor online. You gave me hope that great things can be achieved where the limitations make us creative. Thank you for sharing.

m_l_p, though I have since become a frequent wearer of scarves, I didn't use to be, even though I adored H scarves. For that reason I framed a couple as an experiment and fell in love with the results. I now have several and am attaching photos - which are also somewhere in the Hermes as Art thread.

The Fixation is a terrifically useful, contemporary way to frame, though I do it old school. Mine are all in slim gold frames, framed with UV plex and archival supplies to protect the silks. in theory, I should be able to unframe and wear these scarves, though after investing what I've invested, I wouldn't...
Beautiful! This is so inspiring! Thanks for sharing these photos, they really do make beautiful art pieces to enjoy every day.

Hi LVlover, first of all, I love your Bolduc silk jersey scarf in B/W CW. It is definitely a HG. I'm so glad I finally found someone that has successfully framed a fluide scarf. Seems a few here are also curious about how to frame their fluide scarves as well. I have 3 fluide scarves (Brides in B/W, Cheval sur mon carre also B/W and Caleche Elastique in grey/taupe CW) that I would love to frame. In your opinion, is there a way to frame a fluide without pinning?

I have started to frame my scarves with the magnets, although I have them attached to a backboard so that the scarf can easily be removed for use then put back into place. I just couldn’t bear myself to have the scarves sewn onto a backboard, especially as over 50 of my scarves are older than me, and a handful older than my parents!
Beautiful wall art...

I’m looking at hanging some of my scarves since I haven’t used any scarves for almost a decade (been using mostly shawls).

would you be so kind to elaborate more on your framing methods?

thanks so much in advance:flowers:
