Anyone else prefer yellow gold?

yellow looks better on warm skin tones and white gold looks better on warn skin tones
Well, that would confirm what I have long suspected, that my undertones have some serious identity issues. I seem to have both blue (cool) and yellow (warm) undertones, in summer, that translates to a sort of light taupe, in winter, think of slightly soiled grey poupon mustard.

Maybe that is why when I was little, when I would hear grownups say I had an "olive" complexion, I thought it meant I was green.:lawl:

I do. I agree with windycityaj and elongreach that while of course we look fabulous in silver, yellow gold (or goldtone) is generally more becoming for brunettes,

lolitakali made a great post in another thread explaining the different ways gold and silver reflect, and I think it is that warmth bouncing off that causes that increased brunette pop factor!

I never cease to be amazed at the difference, if you take a very simple, plain, black dress with all silver bling, then take it off and do gold. It changes everything, skin tone, the way my hair looks, the way the dress fits. Both look good, but in such a different way, it is apples and oranges and optical illusions, I guess, because of all that reflection going on. I suspect Science may be involved so I should probably whisper.

I love yellow gold too. Its more opulent. And more old school. And regal. I like them in 18K or 22K. 24K is a bit too soft. Some people think its more grandma-ish but I just ignore them. White gold just reminds me of silver, and honestly its hard to tell them apart.
