Anyone else have a bad experience with buying Cartier?

Thank you! She's making her maiden voyage today. Might as well get a start on bringing down the cost per wear. I'm pleasantly surprised that while typing the bracelet falls down my wrist to a place that it's not in the way or being banged up. The design is very well balanced. View attachment 3765935
Congrats! It looks beautiful on you. Finally you can enjoy the bracelet of your dream!:smile:

I, on the other hand, will not give Cartier my business anymore. I am very impressed with Bvlgari, VCA and Pomellato. Will certainly explore somewhere else too.

I don't know if you've looked at Chopard either, but I've had wonderful experiences with them as well.

EmileH your bracelet is stunning! I do hope you still love it!
I’ve had mostly good experiences in Cartier and a wonderful SA who I will only deal with now, but when I was trying to decide on my love bracelet colour, one of the SAs in selfridges really annoyed me. I was trying it on and wanted to see how it would look with some of my other bracelets as when I go out, I wear those too although only the love would have been on 24/7. This guy kept saying to me that it would not do, and that the love bracelet should be worn on its own otherwise it will end up scratched! I’m no fool, I know if you wear it all day every day it will scratch regardless, but he kept lecturing me for considering wearing it with anything else! I didn’t buy it to be some museum piece and to retire any other bracelets I own ever again! I wasn’t planning on buying it from him anyway as I was already seeing my own SA to buy it, but should I have been, I would 1000% have refused with his service!

Very disappointed with my Cartier visit last Monday. Two years ago I bought a WG Clash ring for my 40th birthday. The experience was perfect : the senior SA was an elegant lady, passionate about the brand, who made me feel instantly at ease. I usually never accept drink or food in stores but she insisted that I had a glass of champagne because 40th is an important number! Well I had a wonderful time.
My 42th birthday approaching, I wanted to add a little thing to the stack I’m wearing in the opposite hand to my Clash (eternity ring + VCA small Perlee). Thinking about a small Love, I went to Cartier to try it on but was quite decided to buy it at once. The lady from 2 years ago wasn’t there and the person at the door asked a young male SA to help me. From the beginning he showed me he had no interest in someone only wanting to buy such a small item. I was a little bit surprised the small love was not rhodium plated he said I should have seen that looking at their internet website, where the photos are perfectly clear, and that if I wanted rhodium I had to buy the ring with a diamond. He looked exasperated when I tried the rings, asking me twice to be more careful in order not to damage the rings (I am extremely careful!),he didn’t engaged in any conversation about the pieces, didn’t smiled once, and I felt really uncomfortable. After a few minutes I said I’d like to think a little bit about the different options and asked if my clash ring could be cleaned. He said that it was impossible today and that I had to come back another day with an appointment. I was very surprised as I had my ring cleaned in store several times without appointment (the ultrasound bath only take a few minutes). I thanked him politely and went to the after sale space, where a lovely employee cleaned my ring at once.
Leaving the boutique I was happy with my sparkling Clash but couldn’t totally shake off the impression of uneasiness, of having been looked down and almost belittled by the SA. I decided I didn’t want my new ring to be tainted with this kind of feeling and went to Chopard instead where I received a warm and nice welcome and finally bought a WG ice cube ring.
Sorry for this long paragraph, but sometimes it’s good to vent!
