Anyone else craving a Birkin 35?

I’ve been craving a 35 lately as well. Agree with previous posts on the 35 being the best proportions.

I bought a 35 in Epsom off of Vestiaire a few years ago and sold it when I got a 30 in Clemence from FSH. But I would do a 35 in Epsom again in a heartbeat as it didn’t feel any heavier than the 30 in Clemence. No slouch with Epsom though…

I battled keeping this one for the last few years as the weight of it (clemence).

Problem is I stuff my bag too when I'm out shopping if it fits. The B30 is great weight wise, but the B35 really is the best proportioned.

The weight of the B35 was just too much and any well intentioned outing shopping always ended in regret. Then the decision was made for me when it was stolen, but then the police (who were fantastic) managed to retrieve a few bags. Anyway by then the bag was even more tainted to me than it already was and I sold it a few months ago.

I would love to get another B35 one day.

I cycle through styles, and realize that currently, a B35 suits me perfectly for day to day! I have taken my B35 raisin togo on all daily errands: kids' piano lessons, grocery shopping, conferences, schlepping to a lot of things. It fits all I need as a mom of 3, and I don't mind the weight as long as I'm not walking all day carrying it. It's currently my go-to daily bag. Now, I know how I am, I will rotate and change it out to another bag: maybe a Dior book tote, a constance, or even just a big ol' Goyard. But for now, B35 is great!

I had a Raisin 35 a long time ago. I gave mine to my sister and I think she gave me something (jewellery, I think)

They're not that big (for me) but they're not light. I 100% prefer my GP 36 (which is not feather weight either - but certainly lighter). People don't look at my bag before me (done up or left open) either. I really hated that (I don't get that with a K).

I think the 35 looks best. Maybe because it's the original size and has good proportions.
Totally agree, has the best proportions!

My only B is a Swift 35, extremely light compared to Clemence (I tried one recently and I couldn't believe its weight).
Moreover Swift is known for becoming soft and slouchy.
I never fill it, in fact I don't agree with adopting mini bags due to carrying few things.
I'm carrying a relatively big bag cause I like it, it remains 75% empty and that's all.
I’m eyeing a swift 35 in lime! Swift is one of the few leathers I have not owned. Glad to know it is lighter. And I love it, I too carry big bags because I love them! Heres to the 75% empty club :drinks:

Are big bags finally returning? :graucho:

B35 has the best proportions of all Birkins IMO and suits me best (even though I am only 163cm).

I too initially thought it would be ridiculous to carry an empty bag but then I realize that each bag has its own purpose. B35 is more of an all-day or travel bag for me. If I plan to carry just my phone, calvi duo and keys, I carry my Saut. I would not think of B25 just because I don’t carry much.
Big bags are definitely returning for me hehe! I’m over cramming my stuff into micro bags. I like having a well rounded collection with some minis but man bigger bags make my heart sing! Plus with winter coming the 35s will be useful with sweaters, jackets, etc…

My first B (which I still have) was a B35 in Gold Togo. I don’t carry it very often because of the weight, but that is partly my own fault - because I have a tendency to fill whatever bag I’m carrying lol. I feel like the B30 is the sweet spot for me personally in terms of size but I’d definitely consider another 35 in perhaps Swift for a super soft slouch, or a vintage special edition. And pricing on the secondary market is definitely better!
I too am thinking swift might be the way to go. I also would not say no to a B35 in chevre or even ostrich (for the weight) but I’m dreaming at that point  And I will definitely go the Secondary market if the perfect one pops up.

Initially I wanted a 40 but now I'm of the opinion that a 35 would be more manageable for my day to day use.
I've also realised I want it in Swift for reasons of weight, slouch and lack of grain.
I wouldn't even look at Birkin below a 35 I don't care about fashion trends I care about the proportions feeling right for the style of bag.
Personally for above reason a Birkin to my eyes works best in a 35 & 40.
The proportions of the 35 are perfect imo. I would consider a 40 down the road as well for travel but with little kids at this point in my life I need a travel bag with some sort of a strap to juggle the madness

And I too am so over the “trends.” Let’s all just buy what we love, right!?

Nope. My first B in 2011 was B35 gold on gold togo. Good gracious was that bag heavy and wide. I used to run into things and people with how much that bag stuck out on my frame. I also used to get the most horrible dents and red marks on my arm. I kept it for about 6 years bc I didn't have the heart to sell her bc she was my first but once I discovered how perfect the size 30 is.. I've never looked back. Definitely buy what u love!

Me! I have read the ode to b35 thread more than once at this point! I personally don't follow what's trendy. I follow what fits me. Now that I have a 35 I am really looking to add maybe 2 more. I have one of each. Something about the size of the 30 is slightly off to me. I typically carry 33oz + water bottles daily but they do not fit properly in my 30! I like to carry things but I do not want my bag to look or feel full which is why Im realizing the 35 is a better fit for me.

To keep my b35 in togo light I don't use the organizer much and only try to focus on carrying essentials which honestly is not much. Now when I do fill the 35 it is HEAVY! But honestly I sometimes fill it because I also felt funny carrying a big bag with little to nothing in it, I'm over that now.
I can definitely see how Togo would get heavy. I think I’m leaning towards swift or chèvre (if I can find one). And love that you’re not following trends! I too try to steer clear of what’s trendy. It’s fun to be different imo

Yes! ...but honestly only as a travel bag. I've had a handful over the years, and they are gigantic to me. Togo is relatively easy to carry, albeit still heavy, but wow. Clemence. No need to hit the gym with that one on your arm. I agree with @nakedmosher2of3 that a Toile would be absolutely delicious! And light to carry - the best of all the worlds.

Actually, now that I think about it, my very first offer way, way back was a shiny graphite croc B35 and I remember thinking... I am not enough woman for this. I'm still not enough woman, pretty sure.
First off love the new profile picture! And wouldn’t toile be drool worthy!? The ultimate of classic. Especially for travel

And you could rock pretty much anything and look phenomenal
