I think people are just referring to how it made everyone who used the coupon sound like they were scammers. It was also sent to everybody, regardless of whether your order qualified for the coupon or not.

And I believe people also thought it was rude because Tory Burch did not say THEY made a mistake, they said that the coupon was used inappropriately by the customers, pretty much. Usually, if a company messes up like that they should be taking the blame and apologizing for the inconvenience. There is no apology in that e-mail, which I find ridiculous.

Hmm I'm curious about this topic... So a coupon code goes around and then its cancelled... TB rescinds the orders, and then tells everyone that the code was unacceptable? Why? Don't they have to approve the code on the website first? You can't write out any old word and expect it to function, right? Isn't that an error on THEIR part if a code was distributed when it wasn't supposed to be? If I had ordered something I would definitely cancel it. Seems like they don't want to honor their mistakes.

I received my shoes today. Still no reply to my original email to TB.

I am surprised they would send that email to everyone who used the code and include those whose shoes were already shipped/received. Just looks messy and unprofessional IMO.

What I thought was odd about the cancellation email was that it was just an email from some TB email box - no logo, no background color, nothing that set it aside from just a random email out of a company email box. It seemed half baked to me.

my order was cancelled  but fair enough as they hadn't yet confirmed shipment. I personally didn't find the email that rude, although it would have been nice if they'd apologized and honoured the coupon to everyone who'd placed order prior to them pulling the code.

However, when i called customer service about it, they were actually quite polite about it and explained how and why the code had been pulled. They also said if you were someone who had actually directly received the birthday email from tory burch (because your b/day was in january), and had placed an order they would still honour those orders. It's hard to get too pissed off, because they were so reasonable.

And to be honest, these glitches do happen so good for you if you happned to be one of the lucky ones who got their orders completed. Better luck to us all next time...

Yes, this is why we found it rude. Cancelling the order wasn't the problem, it was the lack of an apology for their error. Ok, so there was a glitch and the system wrongly accepted the codes...so they cancel the order...fine. But the least they could do is admit their mistake or say sorry for the cancellation. As another poster said, it just came across as unprofessional IMO

I placed an order for one pair of Revas on 1/3 & noticed my credit card charged on 1/6. I received the same generic email as everyone else.

I never received tracking information. And, they have not reversed the credit charge. On TB website, says the order shipped - so I guess I have to wait a few more days and see if the shoes actually arrive? It really only ended up being about 25% off - paid $145 before tax, retailed for $195. In my opinion, they still would make a big profit with my purchase. Off topic, but I paid much less in the past with Bloomies promotions! I'm fine with them not honoring the code, but I agree the email could've been worded differently, less snarky.

I received my order today, despite getting a cancellation email. I was on vacation while the code was outed online and ordered the second I heard about it -- I also was aware of some people getting vouchers in the mail, so I didn't want to miss my chance, so I ordered. Last week, I wrote on Tory Burch's Facebook wall that it was ridiculous that my order was cancelled when it was mid-transit to me, and after my card was charged. The charge also disappeared that day. About 18 hours later I was contacted by a very apologetic Caroline at Tory Burch who told me that it was a birthday code, but they would still honor it, and not to worry. I told Caroline I would remove the post, and instead write one about impressed I was about how quickly they turned this around (in my case at least). Today I received my order, and the charge re-appeared on my bank account. Hope this works out for others as well.

I rec'd my sandals and I was charged 4 days after recieving them. They honored the $50 off and they sent me the cancellation e-mail also. I wrote on the TB FB wall and Caroline Nash called me the next day but I wasn't able to anwser.

i sent my package home and because i am in college i did not come home until today. when i opened my i was so excited to get the thora sandals and instead all i got was half a pair  only the left sandal was in the box!! i called customer service and they told me to send the box back and someone will call me in the next 2 days -__-

yeah the customer service rep said that they would refund me the return shipping fee but when i was on the phone with him he said he noticed that i used a $50 promotional code and kept hinting that i could get a refund and then order another one online (assuming without the $50 off). :shrugs:
