Any non-leather bags?

I second the Vera Bradley bag idea... they are vegan friendly :D I'm a vegetarian and try to buy minimal leather; a lot of the bags only have small amounts--although I know that wouldn't work for a vegan. Even the wristlets, wallets, and mini skinnies have leather trim--a scarf might be the way to go, along with a cute Vera Bradley bag :D (they hold up REALLY well--I used the same one for nearly a year--you just toss it in the wash and it looks like new!).

I'd second the Vera Bradley bags IF you think she'd like the look, they're very colorful but a bit "busy" for some people. My daughter and a lot of her friends have them and they're very well made and durable for cloth bags, and not too pricey - she has a large tote bag and it was $78 I think. There are matching cloth accessories and a fair number of pockets. And completely washable.

How about getting a custom bag made for her? There are plenty of hand-made hand bags available on Etsy.com, and many sellers would be more than willing to custom an order for you to her size of the bag, and materials to ensure you are getting something that's vegan friendly.

This is exactly what I was going to recommend! I also want to second shezarealgem's point that she may not appreciate a gift--no matter how well-intentioned--from a company known for its leather goods.

Thanks for all the replies. You all made some excellent points. I didn't really think about what she would feel about getting a Coach bag--even a non-leather one. I just love them and wanted her to share that love, KWIM? I guess I need to find someone else to share this particular love with!:amuse:

If you go to Ebags, they have cute small, start up designers that are Vegan friendly. My SIL is Vegan. One time I bought her a satin KS photo album. When it came it had a leather tie on it. I had to run out and get some grossgrain ribbon to replace it with before I gave it to her. She won't sit on our leather furniture either. I always feel bad because she sits on the floor.
