Great you ordered during the weekend. I'm glad I did because my SA told me they haven't gotten the bracelet I wanted.

It's frustrating when some stores get some things and others don't. I understand why, and it's happened to me at other retailers too, but it still makes it hard for you to get your hands on what you want. :graucho: I was happy to see that the leather bracelets seemed to have only gone up minimally, for the most part about $10-20.

klynneann, my SA does a national search within the USA and seems to miraculously find what I want. Maybe yours could do the same? Transfers on leather bracelets just need the SMs approval. :D

Wow Vigee you must have a great H SA! So far I have asked two H SAs from two different locations ( yes I do have buying history with both) either willing to do the nation wide search. As matter of fact, either brought up this possibility when I express interest in purchase RGH Rivale

Thanks for posting the WSJ article, Monceau. I read something in the fashion press to the effect that Chanel prices are being harmonized worldwide, in part to make it easier for them to start selling bags online.

Whatever the reason, though, I am sad that the door is closing on fab shopping opportunities in Paris. Guess I will have to make my June trip to Paris really count!

Thanks, Vigee! I think I assumed that because they're leather you couldn't do a search for them. My SA is great and found a couple twillies a few months ago that were almost sold out. :smile1: I'll have to ask about the leather bracelets!

klynneann, bought an exotic CDC by my SA doing a nationwide search and then a transfer with the SMs approval from both stores. So, it can be done ~ H usually likes to sell it's own in-store items and I totally get that BUT there is usually a way to receive a hard to obtain item without being too pushy about it.

Thanks, Vigee! Wow, your SA did a search for an exotic CDC! I will definitely keep this in mind.

My SA told me they can do a search for almost any item within their network, within reason of course.
Absolutely. I am guessing this is the same worldwide, but certainly in the UK they will also search for leather items too and will tell you which store has what you want?

The only difficulty with the larger leather items of course is that they do not usually like to transfer them to another store so you may have to travel to get what you want, but at least you know they have it :) x

Ah ok. I live in the states and my boutique / SA handles it a bit differently. I let them know what I want - they first look to see whether or not they have it in the store.

If they don't, then they check elsewhere and it's transported to my boutique. I'm informed sometimes of where it came from but TBH, I never care about its origin. I'm just grateful my staff can procure it. I have never traveled elsewhere to procure a desired item but then again, I'm don't frequent H on a weekly basis, etc.

However I understand some stores do have some policies against in store transfer though. So I guess it depends case by case.

Hi Hermes_lemming,

From my own experience I completely agree with what you say.

I have not personally travelled to another store to get something I want - partly because I am very fortunate in having a couple of excellent assistants who source things for me and get them for me to view - though I do assist in this, as prior to visiting I tend to email with a list of the things I would like to view on the day of my visit, which seems to help?

I did hear from one of the other stores however that stores are not keen to transfer leather goods - in particular the more expensive bags - but would basically locate them for a client if they themselves didn't have them.

I realised immediately, just how fortunate I am with my SA's and my store! So much so that I seldom come away without a purchase of some kind (latest reveal coming up on Sunday!) lol ;) :hugs: xx

The current Europe price (after 10% tax refund) is about 40-45% cheaper than US (after 8-9% sales tax). US is one of the most expensive country now. Even more than Japan. [emoji20]

Thanks, babielovah for the information and this simply reinforces what I thought. It is no wonder that I am still having trouble with the USA H price increase.
Just read on the H belt thread that belt kits are approximately $535 in Madrid and I paid $870 for one a few weeks ago.

Also, I might be wrong but I think that all USA price increases are in place now.
