Any information on 2015 price increase?

Goodness, at a 10% increase, I am so happy to be done with H bag purchases. That is a really tough (and big) pill to swallow. I feel for all of you that are hoping to get your first B or K or looking to add to your collections. Hopefully it won't be as bad as they are saying.

+1, agree MarvelGirl, thank goodness I bought 3 Bs last year and I can rest for awhile! Still would like a bleu atoll K

My SA confirmed that the price increase for bags is 1/28 and it will be about 10%.

I was told by my friend that Japan increased almost 25% on Epsom leather bag... not sure if it is true or not but definitely it is getting more and more expensive in Asia

To add to the U.S. intel, another TPFer and I were told last week by our SA it would be 10-20% increases. The store had already gotten updated price info for a watch that was going up 20%.

Insane.

We had an increase of almost 10% on Kelly bags too here in Europe, Vigee. On Birkin, not so much. But it's a lot for sure. Hopefully, the price increase in the US will not be that bad. It shouldn't IMO as their prices are more expensive there anyway when you compare them to European prices. But with H., you just never know...

I have a feeling that the price for the GMs in the USA remains steady, Vigee.


Hi VigeeLeBrun and Chanel, did your SA's told you that there will be no price increase for the CSGM? I'm thinking to buy 1 or 2 before the price increase. But if there will be no price increase then I will wait and not rush myself to H store.

Hi doves, I don't know if cashmere GMs will increase in price or not. While bags has increased in price here already, I haven't heard anything about the cashmere GM shawls yet. The price here in Europe is still the same at EUR 895,00. So it seems in Europe there might not be an increase on cashmere shawls, but this isn't confirmed yet.
I don't know about other parts in the world, so if you saw a GM you really like, I think it's better to get it now before it eventually increases in price .

Oh my, 20% ?? The prices in the US are already more expensive than here in Europe so a 20% increase is quite shocking. I don't want to think about what H. prices will be over 10 years or so .

Oh wow, Vigee! 3 Bs last year is so amazing and wonderful! Congrats on such a wonderfully blessed year and your feeling of contentment with your H bag collection too. And yes, a K in bleu atoll sounds really yummy but at the rumored new prices, not so yummy at all. A 10-20% increase is terrifying and ridiculous. Even if I wasn't done with my H bag collection, this would make me done. Yikes!

Called my SA for the K in 32 / Epsom retourné.

Price in Paris gone from 6 200 to 6 500 euros.

4% increase, pretty fair like the B

This is how I'm feeling too but I think there's still hope as they don't HAVE to raise prices quite as much especially now that the Euro and other currency are on the decline. I'm not going to freak out until it's confirmed and the new price tags are out on the boxes. There's so much conflicting information so I'm trying to be patient! I have a K on my Podium list already so finger's crossed they slow their roll a bit on these crazy increases!

You're right, MrsOwen - I should wait until it's done (b/c it's not like there's anything I can do about it anyway), and then (potentially) freak out.

ITA. If the new price on a 32K is now €6500, and the eur/usd exchange rate is $1.12 today,
then the cost of buying a K in Europe equates to $7280.00 vs the current US price of 9250, and that is before VAT refund.
A 10% increase would give a $3000.00 price discrepancy, more than a 40% premium for a US purchased Kelly vs a European purchased Kelly.

I just find it hard to believe H would have that big a discrepancy in pricing.

Here's hoping! Otherwise I'll take my K fund to Paris and try my luck while enjoying one of my favorite cities! We'll know soon enough, I have a visit with my SA to charge send a scarf/exchange something I didn't need scheduled on 1/28!
