Has anyone noticed that the inventory is the best for Christmas in 3 years ? I heard that the demand is some regions have weakened as the strong US dollar makes buying power of other currencies weak. I have never seen drawers and drawers full of silk and cashmere in the stores that I have visited. As demand weakens, H will feel some pain with over stock and may have to hold off on any price increase until things improve. If they pull this rumor to jack up sales in January, that would only be advancing sales and it will make subsequent quarters look bad.

By all predictions, demand will continue to weaken due to the slowing growth in many regions and a strengthening dollar. It seems like all of the luxury/ fashion houses are sitting on inventory.
Someone mentioned a 10% price increase at H, but I would be shocked to see them do that across the board.
This past January I think the increase took effect around the third week of Jan for N. America. I think our silk prices in Canada will probably go up because it didn't go up early this year and our dollar has weakened by almost 15% since.

Some resellers I've been following kept saying there will be a price increase on January 2nd. I thought they made that up just to boost sale but based on posts above I guess we are really having a price increase in early Jan?
I too think Silk will have a big increase here in Canada. Right now the price of a 90cm scarf is $420 CAD, which is almost too good to be true especially considering the weak Canadian dollar. Other brands for example Ferragamo already increased their 90 silk to $415 but their scarves are like half the weight of a H 90 silk. Not to mention some other brands are already selling their 90 silk at a higher price than $420. Maybe I should visit the boutique before January to see if I can get myself any SS2015 scarves at the current good price.
