It's actually a soft leather but it holds its shape while standing alone.

Actually it is a closet my dad added on like 40 years ago. After he passed away a few years back my family and I moved into my childhood home so my mom wouldn't be alone. And originally the wood was stained brown and I painted it white last year to lighten it up. I love the way it turned out too.

How cool that you have that memento of something your Dad made. Love what you've done to it - kind of a shabby chic look! Gives me a great idea for more purse storage!
