Amazing you found the riding boots, they are gorgeous! What day/time did you go? On the 25th at 1pm they didn’t have any Kelly riding boots.
The stock is continually replenished as things are sold in each department. The back room stock is also replenished from the warehouse daily. So it truly is completely random (and fair) that a particular item in a particular size may be available at any given time.
This takes all the craziness out of " should I go at 9? Earlier in the week?" It doesn't matter- its all what's left over and what is put out at the time you are there.

9 am on the 26th. They had about 6 or 7 pairs I think--all size 40.
ETA: I was able to get Mocha riding boots at the 2018 sale. I was in disbelief that they put black ones out though because I always think of them as a staple.
My haul from this morning. I went at 9 am. A lot of people were looking at RTW this morning and there was a line for the fitting rooms. There is a lot of RTW available. There’s a limit of 3 on cashmere scarves. One SA said 3 for men, 3 for women while another SA said 3 total. It didn’t matter to me since I only got 2 cashmere scarves. I was amazed to find the alligator loafers. the only one in my size I think. I didn’t see another one brought out after I nabbed this pair.
