@880 as the resident advisor for BC, what are your thoughts on their boots sizing? I've read they run TTS. Would you agree?
Thank you for the compliment, but I haven’t bought their boots. I found their slip on sandals were sized like Birkenstocks or gucci which tend to run large on me. In other words, I’m a 37 BC slide; 37 birkenstock regular; 37 gucci loafer; 37 modern manolo ( decades ago, I wore a 37.5 Manolo)
but a 37.5 chanel , hermes, or dior boot. I’m a size 5 UK doc marten.

Thanks for this insight @880 I was coming in here to ask you if you were familiar with their shoes. I was wondering how their sizing is. I'll be visiting a store soon and thought about trying a pair of loafers for this fall.

This is a brand that I have been going to more and more recently.

Hope you guys will report back! Am curious too! Hugs

ETA: I just remembered that DH who has bought their shoes says mens sizes are all over the map. When he bought a pair at trunk show, the buyer told him to buy his usual BC size. It was two sizes too big at least. Like clown shoes. So I think it’s important to try in pers9n when possible.

This is good to know. I will be patient :angel:and wait to see in person.

Very helpful. Here are my new boots. They are so comfortable, esp for a pointed toe. Well made too. I'm a true IT37 and these are EU37. Wearing knee hi trouser socks. Fits great with a little wiggle room.

Ladies, bring out the high boots in the back of your closet if you haven't been wearing them. They will be everywhere this season.

How would you guys say BC compares to Loro piana? I want some cashmere basics and not sure which way to go
For women: I find that Loro Piana has more color options. BC sticks to a few color ways that is apparent when you go in one of their stores. BC also likes to use pailletés that go great with their monili. In my opinion, BC pieces are very Italian with a very beautiful and unique balance of sparkle and rustic. In my mind, the iconic BC look is a sparkly silk skirt with a paillette jumper or leather biker jacket. Loro Piana is more simple and elegant with a greater emphasis on the material and color. Material and feel wise, I find BC is often a bit thinner than Loro Piana. Loro Piana also offers many types of cashmeres while BC sticks to one. Baby cashmere from Loro Piana feels amazing.

For men: once again the color options at Loro Piana are more extensive than BC. For men (like women), there are the thicker knits and super thin knits, but not too many in the middle at BC. I have found that BC pills less than Loro Piana.

Overall, between the two, I think it really depends on the style you want for your jumper. For a basic, I would go for Loro Piana as there is more selection of both types of cashmeres and color.

On a tangent, but I was pleasantly surprised by Hermes cashmere jumpers for men. Compared to both Loro Piana and BC, the cashmere was the finest at the touch.

depends on what you want. For men, DH found the fit of BC closer to the body, but he hasn’t bought LP in years
for women, BC is more fashion oriented than LP, and fills a different function in the wardrobe
DH and I find H cashmere to be a better priced and more stylish than either LP or Brunello mens. I think though that he likes the cashmere silk blends at H the best.

for me personally, I prefer chanel cashmere cardigans as statement pieces over the other brands mentioned (they are more expensive though, so I buy fewer). I buy silk cashmere brunello basics (I like the thin ribbed turtlnecks and crew necks to wear under jackets. A thicker sweater, like an H cashmere sweater, is not my style.

for genuine basics, I used to wear moderately priced merino like John Smedley. More durable and flatter finish than cashmere

My son and husband have also told me that BC is tailored closer to the body compared to Loro Piana.

I have also found Lafayette 148 to be a great compliment to both Loro Piana and BC. I suspect that Lafayette willingly copies BC when it comes to the silver details on silk and cashmere pieces that look awfully similar to monili. The materials and cuts are quite good with the prices slashed by being made in China while cutting out the middle man.

I agree. I have quite a few Lafayette pieces in my wardrobe, it's great for work attire.

New to the brand and loving a lot of pieces but not sure if price is justified? How easy are these pieces to care for? Can they be dry cleaned? The few pieces I have all say hand wash only which honestly just would not work for my lifestyle...
Lots of insights have been shared on this thread that you might perhaps find helpful? :)
