I have owned a couple of ants and also interestingly found them quite uncomfortable on the neck like stopmenow has mentioned, i ended up letting both go go for this exact reason I found I could only wear them as a shoulder bag. I always look specifically for messenger style bags and now use a mini alexa for the same uses as I would of used an Antony.
What a great idea! I had originally thought of the mini alexa as too mini but I bet it holds a similar amount to the antony?? Has anyone put this to the test? I feel the alexa is more feminine.
I have had one ant..... And as I keep moaning about.... I sold her regretfully.... But had it not been for the colour, I may not have regretted it quite as much.
My issue , which is possibly a little controversial for such a best seller, is that I'm a bit girlie in my taste and like sparkly pretty things. Some ant straps are quite masculine looking depending on which colour they are.... Oops I've said it now! X:censor:

I know exactly what you mean about once you carry a Mulberry (or any designer bag)! I was a fan of a particular high street brand and have some gorgeous bags by them but since getting into Mulberry, they have been neglected. I've become a bag snob! :faint:

Im definitely a bag snob now ! :-/ I did like the pml camera bag when I saw it at the York outlet a couple of months ago and much more feminine!
But at 325 I thought it was abit overpriced for the size of it, maybe I should keep my eyes peeled for a Gracie or pml camera bag to come up on eBay (I think it's the Gracie thats a similar size?!) still a newbie and getting to know the mulbs lol x

I tried an oak Antony a couple of years ago but returned it - I've always liked them on others but felt like a bus conductor with mine!! It really didn't suit me at all. I've learnt from experience now that I can't really do crossbody bags, am definitely a hobo and tote girl!

I think I get more in mini alexa than I would in an ant I love the shape and structure the mini offers compared to the larger versions however I must admit I am a sucker for those too.
Mini black alexa is probably one of my all time favourite bags for use ideal with a long champ le pliage tote for your shopping to go in matching colour of course!

I've never thought of having a mini as a cross body, thanks for posting this Ondrea it's made me totally rethink my cross body bag :D Maybe I will get my much wanted Oak Lexie but in mini!!

Hello ladies recently I have purchased a fudge heritage bayswater, my first mulberry :)
The bag is beautiful and I'm officially in love <3
But, as it's the larger style it's much more suited to when I have days out shopping etc,
My birthday is coming up and my oh will be wondering what I would like, I've had my eye on an Antony for a while now,for days when I want to pack light, just wondered how all the Antony owners feel about there's? Is it worth getting as they are very compact, what can you fit in there?
Tia ! X

I had one for Christmas the year before last. I didn't get on with it all and sold it quite quickly.

I found not only could I hardly get anything in it, getting anything out was very difficult as they are so narrow. Its also difficult to see inside & anything at the bottom stays there!!!

Definite no no for me. I walk a lot and wear an Alexa or SBS when I do. If I just wanted a handy little x body bag I would wear my Alexa clutch or Lily......much prettier:D

Or a small taylor maybe

The strap on the lily isn't very long cross body though and you use an Alexa clutch as a cross body? Is there the facility to add a long strap on that then?

Thats exactly how I felt! I prefer lily as its ew and more feminine

So, I wasn't sure......

Is it Antony with no 'h'

Or Anthony with an 'h'

After all, people don't like it when you spell their names wrong!

So I looked on eBay - hmm, quite a mixture of Anthonys and Antonys there. OK, I'm not the only one who's confused.

Then inspiration struck. Of course! Mulberry.com would have the answer. Or would it........

Oh yes the Alexa clutch comes with a cross body strap and is perfect for this, I have never actually used her as a clutch:cool:

"The Mulberry Alexa Small Shoulder Clutch is a messenger / satchel clutch which features stud fastening buckle straps and the iconic Mulberry gold tone"

I don't have any of my pics to hand but downloaded these, she came in an assortment of colours

She's ultra comfy xbody, a handy size & easy to see whats in there:smile1:

The Lily as elvisfan4life says is far more feminine. The strap not quite so comfy but great for short periods when you want hands free

Someone mentioned Antony had a bus conductor look, I think that describes it perfectly;)

Thank you very much for these...so the long strap is definately long enough for cross body? What a very apt description of the Antony...bus conductor's bag!!! :D
