I wonder why there are so many Michael Kors bashing threads online, and even on this forum? It really gets old all the misconceptions about Michael Kors.

I think some of it is because we are the new kids on the forum? Michael Kors only recently got added to the forum's list of contemporary designers a few months ago! And our authenticity thread was not even pinned to the top until about the same time and we had to request it. So many probably couldn't even find us, until we got on that list. While the forum was here a few years before we got added to the list, we only got added 'officially' just last winter.. Many are under the impression that MK has nothing but cheap inexpensive bags that would never be faked! We see countless fakes and fake websites for Michael Kors!, I wish more would get and post bags from their luxury line in the Michael Kors Collection. Cheap?? They have bags that are 10,000.00!! But all we really see here are the MMK bags. I have posted a couple from the MKC line, but I can only get so many! lol! At least we have the Miranda and Casey on here, but no others. Hope we can change that. Maybe we can win the lotto! lol!

The funny thing is, they are saying MK is nothing but a copy cat that steals everyone else's designs and Coach is so much better because they would never do that. Well

This is the new Coach STANTON Satchel made of 'criss cross' ( saffiano) leather. Coach calls it 'criss cross'

LOOK FAMILIAR??? Don't get me wrong, I love Coach too, but to say that MK is the only designer that copies others, is just singling him out, when all the other designers are doing the same thing!!. Coach has been copying quite a few MK bags I have noticed. All the designers copy each other.

I agree with you, I just don't get why there seems to be sooo much hatred towards a bag!! I read some of the threads the other day and people really are quite snobby in their attitude. I buy the bags because I like a style or colour and the price point allows me to have a range of bags to choose from every day- I get enjoyment from that. I have my own opinions on some of the more expensive designer bags but I don't go bashing them or the people who choose them. Life is too short to spend time posting negative comments and actually it is too short to analyse what bags people carry. I can spot a nice looking bag in the street but I then don't spend time looking to see who (or even if there is one) the designer is. I am certainly not going to waste time trying analyse if that bag is copy of another bag and work out who designed it first. As has been said numerous times all bags look similar to whatever is fashionable. Some of the MMK bags do resemble others but I don't care and I'm not spending my precious time to see research who copies who.

Anyways, i don't get why they single out MK either that is something i will never understand the copying/inspiring pick a word is out there by everyone unless it's a blatant copy where trademarks are being violated GET OVER IT.

There is only so much one can do with a bag, there will always be similarities. I get people not liking stuff i don't like everything either but it's undertone of nasty i dislike, the go for the throat we must make this person feel like dirt for even considering buying one let alone owning one... excuse me?

If your paying for my bags -maybe- you have a right to some opinion but i am fairly sure your not so cut the nonsense.

I only recently got into purses, i always carried nice leather ones but through a company in my country and carried them for years before buying ONE to replace it with. Now the kids are grown i am more focused on myself, the forum is fun but sometimes the arrogant snobbery really gets to me...

They are PURSES get over it, no way are they important enough to play mean girls(or guy) this is so high school and annoys the heck outta me.. i even enjoy hearing others gain pleasure from bags you wouldn't catch me tossing a dime at...

Really some people just cannot learn how to present opinions with out tearing others down that is far more terrible than some purse you dislike.

Sometimes it feels like you either work for MK, are a relative of his or make all these designs yourself the way that you are so easily offended by people having differing opinions on the brand. At the end of the day it's a bag. If someone else doesn't like it, that's their opinion. Its not bashing, as everyone is welcomed to their own beliefs and taste...


I guess I just don't have time to care if someone doesn't like the bag I am carrying or the same brands I do.....I have much more important things in life to worry about...i.e. family, health, friends, etc

lol!!! Oh yes, he even designed one after me, it's called the Cynthia!! LMAO!! And he made one for our Mother , Joan too, it 's called the 'Joan' Satchel! lol! Although my husband does claim I have stock in the company with all his bags I own! LMAO!!

Hun, I'm quite sure Michael's family and friends aren't on this forum. I wish they were! Would be great to talk to any of them. The brand is far from perfect. We see a lot of people doing returns for defects and would be nice to tell them where they could improve or what colors we'd like more of.

I just really don't understand this brand bashing. Frankly I've never seen it before in all my 60 years of living. I see a lot of politician bashing, but nothing about brands. Have never seen it on facebook, or anywhere but here actually.

I think Michael just came onto the scene so hard and fast that it overwhelms some people, perhaps?? I'm really TRYING to understand it, but I just don't. I personally think it is bad manners and rude to go around bashing something so many people obviously love so much. I just ran into yet ANOTHER thread about it and the biggest thing that concerns me is how incorrect most of their claims are. I think that if you're going to HAVE to Hate someone, at least have a truthful reason for it, not just what you heard or what you think you know. Have it be based on facts. Maybe I could see it if he was a counterfeiter or was in a drug cartel, or some kind of criminal. As far as I know, the man has never even had a DUI! lol!

We have a whole forum here for Michael Kors and wonderful ladies that I have grown to know and care about, that all Love Michael Kors. It's not only offending me, but it insults my friends here and I have always been very protective of my friends and family. The only Michael Kors family I belong to is my family right here on this forum and I wish people would quit insulting their taste and criticizing something we all love so much. Is it really necessary??? Can't we just be left to enjoy our passion? Is it really too much to ask, without having to defend it all the time??

It's ridiculous when I hear or read people judging others because of the brands they wear. It's pathetic! Every designer copies each other or have similar designs in their product. It's all in the quality and customer service for me. Oh and of course price point LOL! Just as long I don't get attacked directly for whatever brand I'm carrying or own then I just ignore all those threads or people who insult and judge others.
