Another Louis Vuitton bag or a Cartier tank watch

Cartier if you like to wear a watch. One day I went to a Cartier store while on vacation. The SA was amazing and encouraged me to try on different watches. I left with no watch that day because I wanted to be sure of my choice. My husband bought me the one I fell in love with (Tank Anglaise) and I wear it so much! Rolex does catch my eye but just like LV - I am a Cartier girl. Be careful...they have lots of pretty things  Tank_Anglaise.jpg

I like watches though live vicariously through people’s collections, but I think the price point of cartier warrants looking at other brands. If cartier is what makes your heart beat much like handbags, you’ve got to consider if it will suit your lifestyle and aesthetic. I personally tend to have cheaper watches because for some odd reason, the more I learn about watches, the more I stick to cheaper options. Brands like Seiko and citizen to me are making solid watches. Also, a lot of luxury watch brands are pretty much fluffed up by marketing. Much like handbags like Chanel flap. Yes, it’s a great bag, but also, someone stamps a higher price on that bag yearly.

Definitely go with the watch!

Personally, I've always thought my first luxury watch would be a Rolex. Like someone said previously, I used to think of it as, if I have a Rolex, then it shows that I've made it. I tried on a few, one caught my eye and absolutely fell in love with it. I was so very close to buying it. But somehow deep down I know that there was just something that's missing. I can't quite describe it. And it wasn't until I tried on Cartier watches that I realised what that missing feeling was. I ended up buying the Tank Solo (now discontinued but is similar to the Tank Must) as my first watch. I really thought that a Rolex would be my second luxury watch, so I went in to try on some in the boutique, still love them but not enough for me to make the final purchase. In the end, I went with another Cartier as my second watch - I was extremely lucky to get my hands on the limited edition Tank Must in the green colour.

To me it's all about which one suits your style the most and truly makes your heart sing. Watches aren't like handbags. I'd say go to the store and try on a few. Goodluck! I hope you find your dream watch

I have a stainless Rolex and Cartier small gold Tank Francais. I love both of them. I wear stainless Rolex with silver jewelry and handbags with silver hardware. I wear the gold Cartier with gold jewelry and gold hardware on handbags.
The only downside for me of owning the Cartier watch is that the battery needs to be changed. I find it an inconvenience and annoying. That being said, I would still consider buying another Cartier tank watch for it's beauty.

I have a Tank and I love, love, love it. I wear it every day. After i owned it a couple of years, I felt maybe I was missing out on something and bought a Rolex. The Rolex stays in the closet most if the time and I wear the Tank, which is more comfortable and less showy when I travel alone.
