Great Job!!! Ive got 2 of those coach charms with the scents included, neither had a strong perfume smell, one smelled like old wax when bought, I just cleaned them out and figured Id just use them as hang-tags, or maybe for putting small meds in.

Anyway, I have a small dremmel as well I use it for my dogs nails, which attachment did you use to polish the hardware?

And thank you for the suggestion of getting a different scent cologne refill, I don't know why I never thought of that!!!!! <that is exactly what I'm going to do!

OMG I never knew Coach ever made anything like this, it is ADORABLE...you did an awesome job....

Thanks! And I agree, it's adorable! I had picked up the legacy-striped, heart-shaped, lip gloss charm at the outlet some time ago and I love it. It's just so cute! It is especially nice because it is a gold charm and they don't make many gold charms. Here are some pics of it (NMA):

When I called JAX I tried to find out which fragrance was in the charm originally but they couldn't tell me. The Bvlgari Pour Femme solid fragrance is not too strong but very pleasant (IMO!) Let me know if you find any other nice solid perfume refills.

I don't know what the Dremel attachments are called but I used some bullet-shaped felt pads to polish the charm. I was pretty gentle with it, I was afraid of rubbing off the chrome finish and exposing the base metal.

BTW, the product that I used to seal the metal of the reservoir that holds the solid perfume is called Diamond Glaze. I found it at a scrapbooking store and I have used it to seal the hardware on rehab project bags that had verigris. It was originally recommended by a TPFer named Alliemia, see the link below:

Is there anything you can't rehab, lol! That is so cool, I love it!

LOL! This was fun because it didn't involve rubbing and moisturizing leather for a change! My husband says that our house smells like a tack shop! :roflmfao:

He complains but he doesn't mean it. He is a real sweetie! He gave me the Dremel for Christmas along with a generous Coach giftcard (that I used to buy my beautiful champagne baby sage!)

We have been sweethearts since I was a Freshman in High School! Yes, he's definitely a keeper!

Thank you, I love my perfume charm too!

I think I know which attachment it is, so you were really just "buffing" for a higher shine?
I was thinking how that might work on the brass hardware to? On our bags. They really are very handy little cases. I was told the scent was the signature perfume. Not in the ones I tried! lol Ill bet they were very nice when they were fresh..... That is really all I wear is Coach signature or philosophy's scents. Very lite and fresh :)

You are such a crafty gal! I remember thinking I wanted to get some of that solid perfume when it first came out, and then shying away because I was thinking it would probably get all gross and nasty like those solid perfume things you can find in antique stores. I never even thought of refilling them...especially with different perfume too. That opens up possibilities :)

I was just buffing to minimize minor scratches and bring out the shine. The Dremel has all kinds of scary-looking attachments, which attachment do you suggest for polishing hardware?

All you need is a crock pot - it's easy!
