Am I Too Late for the Party??

How do you like the Emily Hobo? Do you like the size? Would you carry it with or without the chain strap? I just bought my first Gucci (the black Emily hobo) but my husband is convinced I won't use it because it's bigger than what I'm used to.
I think it's beautiful but I couldn't find any photos of it in action.

That it is a bigger bag it is but that's what I was looking for, a workhorse bag that I can wear on my shoulder. I tend to put lots in my purse and was quite frankly tired of my too small hand-held satchels so the Emily hobo was a relief. I plan on carrying it both ways, with the chain strap and without. I'm a tall gal so the chain strap falls at a nice spot on my height but I also loved the way it looks with the chain draped on the bag. When I first tried it on, my husband too thought it was too big and bulky but it was because it was fully stuffed with tissue, once I took all the stuffing out and put my stuff in,it took a much better shape and then my husband realized it was great shaped bag. Enjoy your bag because it is a beautiful, versatile bag and the guccissima really brings out its awesomeness!

Unfortunately, I was late getting to the sale (the story of my life) so there weren't any emily hobos available. I bought it on ebay for about 35% off (after getting it authenticated on TPF, of course
The wallet I got with store credit I had saved up (I was just itching to spend it!). It's being processed right now. Can't wait until it ships! Here's the Emily Guccissima Hobo. Hi! Do you still use the Emily hobo? How’s the wear and tear? I just purchased one in soft camellia and I’m waiting for it to arrive.
Also is there a Gucci Emily club? It’s such a beautiful line but I couldn’t find anything.

Yes I do still have the Emily hobo and I am not going to lie, the wear and tear shows but I think it is due the light colour I had - now having said that, this is the most FUNCTIONAL BAG ever - I had it for a workhorse bag and a vacation bag for travelling and really beat the crap out of it and it now shows, but it took about almost 3 years of abuse to get it to that state - I have been trying to find another bag that can serve me the same functionality as the Emily hobo did and I simply cannot. You will not regret this purchase - this was by far my favorite function bag ever. The Emily flap that I bought at the same time is still in pristine condition as I use that as a more dressy bag and it does not fit as much as the hobo did, so I don't use it as often. Not sure if there is an Emily club, I thought there was - could be well hidden in the rabbit hole since Alessandro Michele squashed the Emily line as soon as he took the helm @ Gucci a couple years back.

Since you have the lighter color hobo, did you experience any color transfer? Or is that part of the wear and tear you were referring to? I was contemplating between the Emily hobo and the Damier azur galliera pm. I read so many comments about color transfer on the Azur Galliera that it turned me away from it.Hi there! Thank you ! I did get some mild colour transfer when I wore denim and when wore the long chain strap but I was able to wipe it off with wet ones - my wear n' tear was visible on all corners or the bag and also on the leather pad of the shoulder strap and my tassels also started to go wonky as well. The beauty of the Emily hobo is that you can wear with the leather shoulder strap or the chain strap - an option the galliera does not offer - I am tall so the I really enjoyed the longer length of the chain strap and made it easy for me for easy access and retrieval to get items out of my bag.
