in a few weeks I went from of only wanting elegant bags to Be kind of tired of them, like I realized I took myself too seriously or took fashion too seriously.

i do love looking good and sure there are occasions where you need a dressier bag. the high promotion of Hermes and Chanel by influencers me made crazy obsessed with that kind of style when I just realized while they are beautiful Brands they aren’t really me.
im really the more rock style of Saint Laurent or the LV Bubblegram collection.

im now kind of getting tired of all YouTubers promoting kelly dupes Or ultra lady kind of bags, I like top handles but more inclined to Jackemous offerings or in the cheaper version the Marc jacobs top handle which is similar to the balenciaga top handle bag.
it can be dressy or casual but less serious dressy.

its crazy a few months ago I was obsessed with the kate middleton, Blair Waldorf style and I’m now reveling against it.

Anyone else kind if tired of this custumy look preppy look of the influencers or intents of looking Ralph Lauren advert campaigns.

I've always had two bag personalities in me. The other loves slouchy, relaxed, informal, functional, easy-to-use. The other loves structured leather, elegant designs, chain straps, formal, all that jazz. I only have a few bags that fit the latter personality's wants because most of the time it's the first one that is dominant.
I do agree that influencers have ruined a lot when it comes to bags. Overadvertising and pushing stuff isn't my favorite to watch.

Yes, but...

I'm not preppy. I'm more old-school. I love vintage and classic looks. I think everyone trying to be Cher Horowitz in Shein looks so style-less and repetitive. But I still love the elegant look! I just don't consider a lot of that to be actually elegant.

I was never into it too much. When going to the office everyday and meeting with clients and vendors for a business lunch, it was nice to have a nice bag, and I still like a nice bag when I'm going out, but working remotely now, it's not a big deal anymore!

Oh I am so tired of it. I know this is an old thread but a year later- the trend is getting very old. And it is a trend. So many of the bags are just so very boring. They all look the same to me, everything looks very "safe". Maybe it's why people are hanging 10 charms off their bags? I always thought a bag sort of hinted at the wearer's personality... I am always so happy to see unique bags, and really look forward to some of your really beautiful, interesting photos. I want cool shapes and hardware and a bit of craziness and individuality!

I like simple forever bags bc I go a bit wilder on RTW (and I mix vintage, premier, and contemporary) I don’t really care what the style of the moment is, so long as it fits my personal aesthetic.

It’s a balancing act to figure out what style best suits an individual. I am tired of hearing about influencers gravitate towards classics as if they were new. Especially shrunken and pastel. Not my thing personally, though many members pull it off beautifully. Im just not one of them :)

ETA: you don’t need to be styled like an influencer or be classic and conservative to wear a classic bag lol. But, a fun alternative to the classics or even the contemporary selection are straw bags from Heimat Atlantica :)

I had a look at the bags, they are very nice looking and unique.
I don't mind simple, I love mixing it up by using a more classic bag with a cardigan and vintage concert t shirt and jeans. It's mostly what I wear every day haha.

Yep nothing better than elevating a simple outfit with some diamond jewelry and a nice bag. Makes the Costco/amazon clothes look a lot better lol

Think of it as herd styling. It will pass the herd has a limited attention span.

more rock style of Saint Laurent
Actually, a beat up birkin or Kelly can be very rocker chic. But usually in a larger size so it doesn’t look precious or girly. And usually in box or another smooth leather. Jane birkin and Kate Moss carried them this way. And, one of my style inspirations was this TPF pic from the mid aughts
