I am in Canada and I never pay full price for my bags.

Crissy, since you have access to the bags you should go and try tehm on and try to hunt them down online. I am the opposite as I love Ebay and Bonz since I have no access to designer items where I am. The waiting sucks but I would rather wait tehn pay FP and taxes.

I never pay full price, but that's because my mom works at Macy's and gets a 20% discount at both Macy's and Bloomingdale's. So, when I find a bag I love, I stalk (or have the mama stalk) both stores so if they get my bag, I get it then so I can get her discount. Also, we have a Michael Kors outlet about half an hour from us, so its rather convienent to get to and I've always come away with something at a great discounted price. Also, I went to TJ Maxx for the first time and came away with two MK bags (returned one) and they were significantly cheaper. So, no, I don't pay full price for any of them.

I paid full price for my MK bag. I saw it, liked it and just bought it. I know I could always drive over to Buffalo and get a deal at the outlet, but I wouldn't know whether I'd actually find the bag I like so I just purchased it here and saved the drive since gas is so expensive these days...

I don't feel like a loser or anything, as long as I have what I really like that's what really matters to me, and plus, MK in general isn't THAT expensive compared to other brands... (at least for the bag I bought)

PS: I was shopping at the Eaton Centre today and walked into Danier (store that sells leather jackets) the sales lady that greeted me had her eyes glued to my small Hamilton messenger =P I love my bag sooooo much! I also saw the medium size at MK in purple on display, it looks FABULOUS!!!!

I used to pay full price for Coach at the boutiques without batting an eyelash. In the past 2 years though, I've changed my strategy in shopping with Coach, so now with MK, I can get more of the bags/clothes/shoes I fall in love with.

My new strategy is, for holidays and occasions, I can tell my DH what I like and pick from the boutiques or department stores. If there's a bag I fall in love with in between, I research by looking for it online, then see in person, then wait for it to go on sale, or find it at the outlet/discount store, or pop up on Ebay. So far, most of them have been obtainable this way. And it feels so good to get a good deal.

My theory is, if I really LOVE a bag, I can wait. Some bags I thought I loved, but then a month later was like - meh! So right there I've saved some money. Extra money saved = more bags. :graucho: And shoes, and clothes. Can't forget those, haha!

My first MK bag I bought from a discount retailer called Tuesday Morning. I didn't even know the designer but it was a LV papillon inspired design with MK logos and top handles like a speedy and I couldn't afford a LV so I bought it. I believe TM sells department store surpluses (they always have a wide assortment of All-Clad and dept. store housewares). I then saw MK bags at Marshall's and back then I was confused about Marc Jacobs v. Michael Kors....oops!

Long story short is that MK has been selling in discount stores for years and as of recently their styles have gotten A LOT better which would make buying Full Price a more immediate option. Enjoy:)

Two of my MK's were full price and one wasnt....I got that one in Macy's. You are not alone....sometimes the bags we love are full price and they arent in dept stores....then we just have to go for it!!! :)
