Okay, I noticed that many people post photos about diamonds. I'm not a big fan of diamonds. I love colored gemstones. Am, I the only one that likes colored gemstones more than diamonds? I love coloful stones because they always make me happy. I don't know, something about diamonds just doesn't do it for me. Is there anyone else out there like me? I like diamonds as an accent stone, but not the main focus of a ring. Also, I love pearls more than diamonds. Weird huh?

Also, I like sterling silver, but I have never bought from Tiffany's. I do like their new sterling silver key pieces, but I have not taken the plunge. I have a Tiffany's near me, but I always go for the unique, colorful gemstones...

I know that Marilyn said that Diamonds are a girls best friend...but for me I can take 'em or leave 'em... give me semi-precious gemstones any day (I should take the plunge and buy some precious gemstones too.)

I like colored stones too, but I really want them to be very good quality. So I don't have a lot of pieces. I am partial to rubies and jade, but quality stones are priced insanely. Imperial jade is so beautiful........it's nothing like you usually see. It almost looks like the very best emerald.
I like diamonds too, but I don't have a burning desire to get the biggest rock; I like them in a design.

At least your habits are cheaper? I love colors immensely, especially bold peridot that seems to go with everything in my wardrobe. Loving things even though they're not the most popular shows that you have beautiful character lurking within. Be proud of your taste and rock your unique style.

I love colored gemstones. :) If you're an oddball, so am I. Actually... I guess I already am an oddball... lol.
I love the color white (among others), so diamonds can have a really great effect against white gold or silver, but I tend to fawn over other gems more. My wedding band and a gold bangle from my mother I wear daily both have diamonds, but I didn't get them because they did. The wedding band design was one-in-a-million for me (I wanted to change the diamond for alexandrite, but sentimentality has taken over and I can't bring myself to change it) and the bangle is a bangle of my mother's I was given when I got married.

I never used to like jewelry at all until I went into business with my MIL - now I am all over the colored stones used in Indian jewelry as well as emeralds, sapphires, and other pretty things. I also wear a lot of black so color in my accessories livens it up :D

love them all! but regardless of stones it is the actual design and craftsmenship quality that makes or breakes a piece for me.

but yes colored gemstones can be absolutely gorgy (and in some cases even more expensive than diamonds )

^^ you all are making great points. It is also about the quality of the stone and the design. I know that if it is a crappy design or crappy stone, I will not buy it. Also, it depends on the materials used as well. Maybe I might like diamonds more later down the road, but not now. My favorite gemstones are Green Amethyst, Pearl, Blue Topaz, and citrine.

I was contemplating a pair of diamond studs but recently swayed towards aquamarine studs as I think they are one of the most beautiful gemstones ever created.

While I do love diamonds (I dont have many, only my e-ring and wedding ring and a solitare pendant---all of which I cherish!) I absolutely loooove pink sapphires and peridot!!!

Pearls > Diamonds, imo

I love pearls so much more because they aren't just a sparkly rock, kwim? They're organic and living and absolutely impossible to replicate (out of all the fakes, they've never stacked up to the real deal in my book).

I love semi-precious stones too -- especially blue topaz, amethyst and rose quartz. I like the more casual look and you can get really big, dramatic rocks for a reasonable price! I love pearls too becuase they are so wearable for almost any occasion.
