I am 46 and I think that is adorable. If I wore more denim I would love it. Sadly, I have one pair of jeans...does it matter that they are Lucky jeans?

Personally I don't feel like you have to have jeans on to use the denim bag. Denim goes with so many colors and I think it's a very veratile.

I am only a couple of years younger than you and I have a large denim Carly. I love this bag and I don't feel it is too flashy, trendy or young for me. I am sure you will feel the same way about the bag you choose once you own it and start using it. I know $400 is REAL money but I figure I use a handbag all day, everyday so it is a worthwhile investment. Selling your other bags is a great idea. Oh, btw I love your screen name!!

I just got back from the mall, I got it !!!! :yahoo: And you ladies are to blame, you talked me into it;) , I feel slightly faint and my stomach is queezy like I just robbed a bank or something ! And yes the Captain is a doll isn't he LIblue !!

Yes, I still love seeing him in ads or Boston Legal. Congrats on the new bag. Which style did you decide on? We will all gladly take the blame of enabling you! ;) Just remember, a handbag is functional and YOU deserve to have one you love!

I agree with kallison, she has much knowledge. *sorry, in a weird mood* *L*

You know, I used to think that $400 was an insane amount of money to spend on a handbag. The thing with Coach though, is that their stuff is excellent quality. That bag will last you for ages. Although, the only problem is once you buy the first one, you'll keep wanting more and more. They keep coming out with gorgeous designs every freakin' season!

As for the age thing, please woman! Use what you love, Coach has no age limit! (Unless you're a spoiled elementary schooler in which case I think your parents need a boot to the head for spoiling you so young, but that wouldn't be your fault. *L*)

And congratulations!! Now you just have to post pictures of you with the bag. :)

Perhaps I am really insane....I don't know if I am going to keep this. The bag is pretty heavy. I have never been a small bag girl and I'm used to some weight but this is a little heavy. Actually the first thing my husband said when he picked it up was " why is it so heavy? " . Maybe its because the shoulder strap is so thick, plus I'm sure the hardware adds a lot. Gawd...I mean if I paid $400 for a bag that is going to be a burden to carry it will be a serious waste of $...I'm seriously going to have to sleep on this. The gal at the shop told me to take it home an put my
stuff in it and wear it around the house and if I don't like it return it. s*it ! :crybaby:

Yeah, the Legacy stuff is notoriously heavy. Unfortunately it's my favorite line so I suffer through it anyway.

If you don't think you'll use it though, then definitely return it. Eventually Coach will come out with something else that you'll love, and that will be lighter weight. Have you seen the ergo stuff? It's super light!

What do you mean you "suffer through it" ! Is it going to be that bad ? I just wonder how I would feel after carrying it on a shopping trip for several hours ? I thought maybe it's just because I'm not used to the style and then of course my whacked husband when I asked him again does he think its too heavy, he said "oh I was just kidding " ! Then he felt it again and said well its heavy but not any heavier then your others ! He says maybe its because its so "compact" , oy vey....he's a lot of help !

JamesTKirksgirl - do what the SA suggested and wear it around the house "loaded" up for a little while. I have a few legacy bags and can wear them for hours without issue (occassionally, I'll switch shoulders, but that's it).

I was just like you with bags just over a year ago - I had never spent more than $50 on one, but then I bought a fur trimmed Hype bag at TJ Maxx for $100 and it lasted all of 3 months before the fur rubbed off and the decorative wrapping on the strap came undone, so at that point, I started thinking that if I'm spending that much $ on something that is $100, in reality, if I spend $400, but the bag that will last years, that actually makes more sense. Of course, what hasn't made sense is the obsession with Coach (and now some other designers) that has ensued. And kallison hit the nail on the head when she said just wait a bit and $400 will seem downright reasonable - she's not kidding (I've started refering to bags under $200 as "cheap"!).

However, definitely make sure you love and will be able to use your bag - even though my bag obsession has skewed reality for me a bit, I think we all realize that $400 is an awful lot of $ to spend on something you're not head over heels for!

O/t but Stophle, you're cracking me up! I think you and I have the same sense of humor!

Yes, you have to love it or take it back.

But IMO, I think "heavy" shows quality of construction and quality of materials. Coach is the best quality you can get for the money- (I know $400 is a lot, but hang out in the Hermes forum for a little while, it'll seem like bargain basement).
