I've always worn my rings on separate hands. I don't like the look of two rings together, whatever the style. In any event, the rings I have now, an eye shaped setting for my diamond and a Schlumberger 16 stone eternity band, could not be worn together anyhow.

When I lived in Germany, I started to wear my wedding ring on my right hand. It just made things easier and I never switched back.

It used to be here that if you wore your wedding ring on your right hand, it meant you were divorced ....!

I'm very interested in knowing about others traditions and I'm only too happy to learn that there are other reasons too :sweatdrop:!!

I remember that!! It must be a UK thing maybe?

When I got married,I had my e-ring on the right hand, then once the wedding band was on the e-ring went on.I could'nt actaully wear the e-ring on my right hand for long, its a bit too small for the finger on that hand and it was a bit of a struggle getting it off!

Oddly, before I worked in the trade,I always thought a wedding band looked better in front of an e-ring,and was a good protection against losing the more expensive of the two. After a while in the trade, selling many, many different sized diamondsand combinations it seems that most anything goes these days as long as it made the wearer happy. Most common one I came across was if an eternity band with big stones was put into the equation, and the e-ring stone was already big,it would go on the right hand.Stop everything getting a bit squashed and uncomfortable too I guess.

Right now I'm wearing my wedding band on my left hand and my e-ring on my right hand. The only reason they're on separate hands is because I'm pregnant and my fingers are too swollen in this heat to put them on the same finger. I miss them together though!
