I underwent revision eyelid surgery a week ago. I came from the States for a three-month internship in Korea, contemplating surgery if I could manage a work-life balance. Two years ago I had my primary non-incisional eyelid surgery in Korea but over time the epicanthoplasty part had covered my eye corner completely. This resulted in my eyes appearing aggressive and angry. Despite my initial surgery , when I was tired my eyelid would become even smaller or disappear.

I decided to explore eyelid revision and made decisions after thorough research, promising myself no more surgery on my face. My ideal outcome was big, lengthy, and rounded eyes like a doll's. I went on a clinic tour visiting three clinics known for their eyelid specialists and DA was my second stop.

At the DA lobby, I struck up a conversation with a lady who seemed to be waiting for her coffee at starbuck. I could tell she had something done seeing the bandage around her face. She generously shared she recently had her eyes and jaw done at DA. This was the first time I witnessed the dramatic result of the eyes I desired in real life. I inquired about the doctor who performed her eyes and chose the same one for my consultation.

During the consultation, the doctor recommended the incisional method. He explained that since my primary was non-incisional and had become loose in two years, there was a high likelihood that I was not a suitable candidate for the non-incisional method. The suggested procedures included epicanthoplasty, lateral and lower canthoplastyand eyelid surgery with ptosis correction. As I preferred a bigger eyelid, the doctor recommended a semi-outline where the eyelid line is parallel and larger. I was advised to undergo all possible procedures to maximize eye enlargement.

Due to work constraints, I found it challenging to take a leave. I managed a half-day leave from work on Friday, scheduling the surgery slot for Friday afternoon. I could return to work on Monday with minimal issues. On day 5, my eyes are still a bit blurry, and my eyeball is swollen. The only challenge has been the curious and doubtful looks from some older colleagues. Currently using the prescribed antibiotic eye drop and ointment daily, I'm eagerly waiting for my eyes to return to normal and can't wait to wear my eye makeup.

7days ( after stitches are out ) The weather here is very cold and dry now, I have to put the eyedrop often otherwise it hurts. Docotor adviced to use artificial eyedrop if i need to clean my eyes often. The antibiotic eyedrop usage is limited to 3 times per day.

3 weeks UPDATE
Now it's turning 3 weeks post operation. I started to put on light eye make up on my week 3. mascara or thick eyeshadow are not yet allowed. Doc said the scar is still soft and red and the swelling of the eyelid can go back and forth up to 3months . I am being extra careful to not rub my eyes
Your eyes look so good at 3weeks!!! Who was ur doctor?

does lateral cantho mean both the front of the eyes and the back?
i heard opening of the back corner can cause dry eye. do you have that problem?
did you ask for open-type eyelid or let doctor decide?

wow your eyes look so beautiful! I hope you dont mind that i saved this photo to potentionally show my surgeon. was the recovery okay? were you able to leave your room to go outside and walk around? Was it painful since you did many eye maximizing surgeries all at once?
