I kind of like it this way though

I would shorten it if I were you for the simple reason that you can lose it if it's too loose. It happened to me, I have 2 CdA and one had 1 link more than the other one; well once it opened by itself while I was wearing it, luckily I was at home so I didn't lose it, but if it had happened outside I could have lost it easily! So the next day I took it to H and had 1 link taken off.

YES! It's too long and it will come undone. One less link will be more comfy too.

I would shorten it. I had a toggle bracelet come undone (fortunately I realized when it did), and I'm sure it was because there was room for the toggle to slip out through the ring.
