Dans un Jardin Anglais pocket square over in SOTD:

I love this design in a pocket square! I missed it and am kicking myself daily. I was told that if there were any still left in the company, they would have been cleared out of stores and moved to off site storage in some old warehouse where unsold silks go to die.... wish I knew the location of that warehouse: I’d be more than happy to rescue a DuJA pocket square or two!

Gosh darn it! I missed them...again! I would really love to know the location of that off-site storage warehouse... seems to me that H.com could easily pick up this excess and start listing them online for sale. My SM recommended that I keep watch for whatever pop up event (or mobile show) H does next because that’s where the oldies are likely to show up next... doesn’t sound promising for me.

I hear you. I am *STILL* searching for some things I missed out on the last couple of years being sidetracked with other things. You should definitely go dig in the drawers at Houston H. I don't exactly know where the stock I found at the Austin pop up came from, but the lovely young lady I worked with was up from the Houston store so I figure maybe SOME of it had to come from there and that is where I found my Jardin Anglais and Sieste au Paradis. (On a side note- Dallas had some past seasons mousselines in their drawers.....Mythiques Phoenix to be exact in several colorways....)

I found out where the stock came from — apparently, “old” stock (old meaning something that is more than 3 season’s old) is pulled out from the offsite storage warehouse for pop up events like the one in Austin. This way, none of the retail stores have to lose anything from their inventory. After a big pop up event, the leftovers go back to offsite storage. If it was a small or local pop up event, sometimes the old stock won’t go back to offsite storage and may end up in the stock room of the nearest H store. [emoji848] So, today, I stopped by the Houston store to pick up a little leather wrap bracelet that I was going to pick up on Monday when I was there but no one could find in the store (despite the computer saying it was there) until today. Coincidentally, while I was there, the silks that came out of offsite storage to make up the inventory for the Nordstrom pop up event this past Christmas that didn’t sell at the Nordstrom pop up event were returned to the store instead of the warehouse. Among the returns were two Under the Waves twillys that I immediately scooped up and brought home with me— hurray! I’m not sure I own a bag that “goes” with the colors in these twillies, but I’m sure I will find a way to make them work [emoji6]

It occur red to me I actually have a little Alice Shirley "family" now! So posting some pics for reference

I think H.com doesn't list these to avoid brand dilution. They probably think that listing 'old' stock will damage their reputation -- which may well be the case. As much as I wish for a Clearance section on H.com, luxury retail plays by its own rules...

Our twinning pocket square!
