What is this talk about the first generation of them being Made In Italy though? I have a cousin who told me she bought the bag when it first came out at Barneys in NY and she said her tag is black with white stitching MADE IN ITALY. I am now confused because she told me this.. .

yes, i pre-ordered from mick margo, Nadine said that it's manufactured from italy.

It is true that the first run of the Alexander Wang Coco have the Made in Italy tags & at the 2nd production were changed to Made in China as his clothes line is also produced in China. The Made in Italy bags are authentic and if you go wayyyyy back in this thread you will see discussion on this as well. Mine was bought @ Barney's in the beginning of the summer. CS Reps will tell you Made in China b/c that is what they are now. If you have a Made in Italy tag and you know it was purchased from a reputable venue than you are good. Just make sure the tag is BLACK w/ the white writing and not some hokey white tag or oddly shaped square that are clear indications it is FAKE! Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents as I was reading and see that this has come up again.

Can you point out where in this thread the discussion took place? The only discussion I found was in reference to a coco purchased on eBay with a made in Italy tag. The TPF member emailed Alexander Wang and they confirmed their bags are made in China.

In the wayyy beginning of this thread. The AW customer service will tell you Made in China b/c that is indeed where they are now and have been but we are talking about back in June. This goes back to the original production. This happens many times with new items that they are tweeked & i can tell you that mine is 1000% authentic as I purchased it from Barneys in NYC so I have no worries at all and i love my bag! :smile1:

It's kind of heavy because of the studs, but it's a very cool bag otherwise. I really like it!

Correction on the style name of this bag. I thought my SA said Rocker, but it's actually called Rocco. I guess the difference b/w Rocco and Coco is that Rocco has silver studs and Coco has brass studs.

The Cut section on the New York Magazine website mentioned yesterday how in demand this bag is.

Huh! they should have keep it Made in Italy:tdown: Spending this much money on a bag is a big issue for me where they made it from.
Well, I'm sure my COCO:heart: from Mick Margo is Authentic, though it's Made in China. I try not to think about it (the Made in China part).:shame:

Well Tookata,

Your silver stud bag sent me over the edge. I bought a gray/silver rocco from Blue & Cream this morning. They had 5 in stock and I got one!:D I just got off the phone with them confirming my order details. It should arrive by next week. :yahoo:

Congrats, boxermomof2! You must post pics when it arrives, I'd love to see the gray/silver combo. That's a perfect color to use all year round.
