Ditto on Barcelona.....had some good times there......and some VERY good times there:graucho:

Oh there are some memories there with Big Pig , Ice House ! BC you are my new Hero!
Free I can live with most of those apart from Ricki Lee (Blegh) Add in some Silverchair and Killing Heidi and you have a great list going!

Free, I know it is a long shot here but what do you think the chances are the CK might bring AS down here for a little horse race that is coming up soon?

Just putting it out there. Someone might take the hint.. :graucho:

OMG!!! Now I'm seriously jealous. Barcelona is MY number one city to see before I die. I'm working on trying to get there for years. You know for me as a little architecture fan(atic) it'd be a dream to go there. Gaudí, Parc Güell, Gràcia, La Sagrada Familia ... I could spend weeks in this city. And I'm not even starting on Moneybrother.
Ok, I'm going back now to working on these jealous feelings. Breathe. Everything's alright. Other people can go to Barcelona too.

I should introduce you to my BFF, because she is obsessed with all things Barcelona. She forced me several times to accompany her on a trip.......and yes, Barcelona is awesome!

Yeah I'm still working on those tickets for December. Need to find someone joining me. I could still kick my azz for not having gone to the concert he did a few years ago in my city when he still was relatively unknown.
That's funny because I just brought tickets yesterday.
As I learned that Moneybrother are going to tour Germany, I was like YEAH!!!....and then I found out that almost all gigs will be held in southern or eastern Germany and that really sucks because moneywise I'm not willing to put up with a long journey. But then I noticed that they will play Hamburg too, which is only 1,5 hours car ride away and it will be a Saturday, so jobwise no leave day is needed. :smile1:
I was really surprised that the tickets came almost as bargains. I just payed 22,55€ each, which is really cheap, because outlandish artist got to pay kind of an entertainment tax in Germany.
One of my friends birthday is in December and he is so picky and already got almost everything, so it's every year a torture to find a gift for him. But he is such a Moneybrother fan boy, so I got him the ticket as a b-day present......so it's a double win! :happydance:

Agreed re: Barcelona and a hangover. I lost four hours of my life due to a bottle of absinthe. Danced my butt off at a groovy little place off La Rambla called Moog, too many nights.

Squirrel you know I can find a picture of you with makeup on. Challenge accepted!!!

Alex needs to come to Australia, stat. We have some excellent bands here and he's been every other damn place on the map

Edit: Agree with Bag and Buckeye...Lana del Rey is mind-numbing.

AMEN!!!
A wild and crazy mix of Absinthe + cerveza + Vermouth al grifo + Cava made me dance Flamenco in a club called Razzmatazz......and there are some pics showing me dancing Tango or whatever in the streets at night with a Spanish man of well advanced years - but that must be photoshoped, because I really don't remember that. :shame:

Those pics are very ... pink.
...
Yeah I thought too, "In which brothel did they stumble?" :p

Oh please, don't remind me of Hot Chip. They're coming to Berlin too. Luckily they get balanced out with a lot of Swedish bands coming too. Really I wonder who listens to this shizz (well besides the obvious).
I've been in Barcelona a few month ago and it seems that pink/violet is very trendy right now. As we walked through the city at nights we saw many design hotels with pink/violet illuminated bar/lounge areas.

Back then we stayed at the W Hotel. The first time I saw the hotel's facade I thought it was a hotel in the Middle East, it reminds me of the Burj Al Arab. Architect Ricardo Bofill did a heart stopping amazing job with the hotel's design inside and out.

Seeing the latest pics of Alex posted by free, the lounge area really looks familiar :thinkin:
I attach some pics so you can make up your own mind ;)

Great photos Kayleigh! That could be the place. The W Hotel eh? No such luck for me...I was backpacking and stayed at a hostel called The Kabul Backpackers. Not quite as upmarket as your place but still oodles of fun.

Oh the things we discuss in a Skars mini-drought ;-)

Misscat, if Alex comes down here for the Melbourne Cup..could be interesting..I'm actually working on something for a marquee :-)

Cut Copy I know about because Alex likes them. I'll have to check out the other ones.

Squirrels with lipstick AND hats! :smile1:

Amazon finally has a decently priced copy of an import version of Measure for Measure, might finally break down and get it. I love No Promises.

From one of the interviews from the NYC launch I'd gotten the impression we'd have something more than just NYC and Berlin. And yet nothing since, not even hints. How cruel of CK to tease us like that.

Forced to? How ... horrible/lucky for you.:smile1:

That does look like a little Burj al Arab. The W hotel in Chicago doesn't look like that, nor does it have pink. Thank goodness for the pink part, though have a sail type building on the shores of Lake Michigan would make sense for Chicago.

I was not surprised about the price. Unless you're Madonna or Chris Brown (who comes to Berlin soon too for a cheap 200 € ticket) the tickets here have reasonable prices. I saw Mando Diao last year in Berlin and the tickets were also just around 25 €. Even though it was announced as an acoustic concert (hence the cheaper tickets) we got the full feast of electronic guitars. Since this day I was turned from a Björn girl to a Gustaf girl and the rest is history. :graucho:

I had to learn that my friends obviously have bad taste in music because none of them want to come and see Moneybrother. I need new friends. :p

My friend is a real bargain hunter, so it was about 150€ for 3 nights + breakfasts.
But usually we go all kinds of hostels/hotels/B&B as long as it comes clean + cheap. In Berlin we stayed at the A&O hostel and payed 6€ each for a night.

I'm not that picky when it comes to city trip hotels. One is out and about the city all day and almost all night, so there is no need for a very fancy hotel, right? As long as everything is clean, I'm a happy camper :smile1:

As I said, my friend is a Barcelona-maniac. I've been there about a handfull of times and would like to see some other cool cities too, but if it comes to picking a city trip (and it's just the two of us who's about to travel and not the whole 'rat pack'), she is as stubborn as stubborn can be and so we always ended up in Barcelona.
But that said, Barcelona is an awesome city, with great cultural assets, a cool night life and a nice beach within the city limits - so one get the whole shebang! :peace:

Mando Diao? I thought you would be more into Sugarplum Fairy - don't know why.
Gustaf Norén? I mean really? He is looks so skinny, almost famished - that's not sexy.:yucky:

Just because there's a Norén brother in Sugarplum Fairy doesn't mean I have to like them. They ain't my thing.
Really? I mean the clue with Joel (who's tall, skinny, lanky and likes hip hop) didn't give me away? And please, you haven't seen him live. The man is amazing (and he was voted Sexiest Man in Sweden 2006). As I said until this concert I was totally into Björn and loved his cockiness but as his sideburns got longer and the concert was over I was all Gustaf's. Talent and personality makes every man attractive no matter how he looks. And we both share a mole. :D
Oh, they were on Skavlan this weekend promoting their new Swedish-speaking album and Gustaf looked pretty normal (not hungry or anything). But this performance here will forever be my favorite one.

Alex has been spotted in Barcelona, Spain with Moneybrother. There are tweets.

Great city..one of my faves..I'm a bit envious

Buckeye...Naomi Watts is a great actress and has pushed herself in some gruelling roles. Not sure she would go full frontal though. It's hard to judge what Lars is expecting without details of the character. Paz would do it. They may be looking for someone visually different to Charlotte Gainsbourg though..

And from the pics, it looks like he's doing his thang: Chillin', kicking it wit the peoples.

Oh Bag, lugna ner dig! ....or as I would say in German 'ruhig Brauner!' :peace:

No, I didn't expect that you like a band just as a matter of fact that one of the Norén brothers is in it. As I said, I don't know why, but I assumed, that you would like this kind of music too - that's all.

I saw Mando Diao a few year ago at WOW - but they didn't really appeal to me. Well, don't get me wrong, I don't hate them, but to me they are somehow inexpressively. :peace:

Let me set your statement straight, if you don't mind: Talent, personality and a good sense of humor makes every man attractive no matter how he looks.

The mole made me LOL :lolots:
No, I don't make fun of you. As a redhead I've got so many freckles, it would be senseless to mock someone who's got just one mole.
But you see, I talked so much today (English, Swedish and German) that my mental dictionary locked up and I wondered, how and why you got shared custody of a mole (animal) with Gustaf. Sorry, but...:giggles:

Well, Brauner would fit. :smile1:

See that's my feeling about Sugarplum Fairy. They don't appeal to me the way Mando Diao did. I feel indifferent about them.

A good sense of humor for me is included in personality because you can't have an appealing personality without humor. But I guess that's a POV.

I also like to call it my beauty spot, you know, like Dita von Teese. I'm proud of it. Others have to let it get tattooed, I got it naturally.

My apologetic offer for going OT.

Nothing too exciting :smile1: I'm just consulting on a few after parties. I do have an invite to attend but wasn't planning on going. My part is behind the scenes not feet on the ground this time around. Emirates usually have the best marquee, followed by Myer and of course the big names such as CK. If I get word Alex is going (which I doubt), I'll change my plans :D That said..the VIP's are really cordoned off so unless he's in a marquee where I have contacts..I'm out of luck.

Well, Brauner would fit. :smile1:

A point of view I happen to agree with. Lots of crap happens in life. A sense of humour helps enormously - in good times and bad. Love that video too. :tunes:
