Not enough Heineken for that purpose, just social lubricant in this case, I suspect. And yes, he's said he usually drinks a lot so he can sleep on flights.

I wouldn't be surprised if he heads home this week, since he's got the Rome event on the 3rd.

Distribution news for WMK

Fortissimo Films has continued more key sales for Scott McGehee and David Siegel’s What Maisie Knew, which had a well received world premiere at the recent Toronto International Film Festival.

The film has now sold to the UK (Artificial Eye), Germany (Pandastorm), Spain (Filmax), and Netherlands and Belgium (Wild Bunch Benelux).

The previously reported deals include the Weinstein Company for France and Madman Entertainment for Australia/New Zealand. Multiple offers were received for Russia, Korea and Japan with those deals still in play. Millenium acquired all US rights to the film in Toronto from WME.

The comedic drama, a contemporary Henry James adaptation, stars Julianne Moore, Alexander Skarsgard and Steve Coogan. The story is about divorce seen through the eyes of a six-year-old girl.

Red Crown Productions produced; producers are Bill Teitler, Chuck Weinstock, and Daniela Taplin Lundberg. Daniel Crown and Riva Marker served as executive producers.

Fortissimo chairman Michael J Werner said: “What Maisie Knew is a powerful, moving relevant modern story. The entire cast, particularly Onata Aprile the young girl at the heart of the story, are absolutely incredible and the plaudits the film received at TIFF and subsequent demand from distributors across the world reflects our confidence in the talents of all those involved in the project. We are excited to see this special film brought to a worldwide audience.”
