in the midst of my many H wants, I keep going back to wanting this Ai tote from Akris esp the horsehair one in medium. No idea how it wears though. I just thought the design is so unique and special. There is no AKRIS store in my country and SAKS does not ship the horsehair one else my money bank will be barren long ago!!!

Is it possible that no one bought the new leather version of the AKRIS AI, yet?

When I started posting about the Akris bags, I knew that it was a 'european' special, but now 2 years later there are so many Ads in the papers and after Angelina Jolie was spotted last spring and summer with the AI, I was sure there would be some TPFers who will buy one.

bumping this thread because i got two akris bags and a wallet. so far i am very happy. i have the ai in medium and a cross body bag. my ai is in double face- i think that is the correct term- material. if i really love it i will consider the horse hair version. both are spectacular.Is it possible that no one bought the new leather version of the AKRIS AI, yet?

vanmiracle- the akris wallet is really beautiful, light and well made. i have not been using it because i fell in love with a bv zip around wallet. it had nothing to do with any fault of the akris wallet.
mine is made of horse hair with an outside pocket. the change part can unsnap and a lot of spots for cards. i will take some pictures later. it is very user friendly.
Annie - thank you for the detailed information. That all sounds very interesting and would be great to see some real life pics, if you have some time left one day.
I purchased this bag today and searched the forum. I paid $5 at a resale and had never heard of it. The bag is a Comtesse made of horsehair and made in West Germany. The horsehair reminds me of one of the Akris handbags. I know I'm late, but I love that handbag! The shape is beautifully different.
My bag is not an Akris, I wish it was. It is a Comtesse, from what I"ve read in this forum they sold their company to the makers of Akris. My bag is horsehair and vintage. I was looking for information about it and found this forum.

I decided to bump this old thread to do a mini review on my Akris Anouk City Bag.
I picked this up on a super clearance and it is a couple of seasons old (based on the price tag).
Here are some pics:
There is also a full size slip pocket on the back.
This bag is 90% leather lined, save the rear zip up pocket which is lined in a sturdy fabric. The rear pocket is also leather lined.
I took it for a spin this weekend.
It was a little smaller than I expected so I needed to downgrade to a small wallet. I love the pockets that are there but do not compromise interior room. The stitching is perfect. The leather is structured but doesn’t appear to scratch easily. And most core to me is the fact the chain strap is a great cross body length. I also love the discreet top handle.
The chain strap is also removable.
This is a very premium feeling bag and also very understated. Exactly what I was looking for.
I can’t believe I had been ignoring these bags.
