Good Afternoon everyone
Still no bag shops in the city…
Do you remember one of my previous posts in which I was talking about the latest « shopping spaces » » that were supposed to open in the neighborhood?
Shopping spaces ? My foot!:panic:
Still no boutiques in sight… but a lot of food places: pizza, bagels….and for good measure …vegan cosmetics….
I remember speaking about nail salons too….
This morning I discovered a huge new one…. ( we already have 5 in the neighborhood )
Just incredible :wtf:
It‘s all about food and nails….
What has this world come to?

Good morning, fellow Islanders.

Our aging lakeside community has lost another landmark established business after an accident literally befalling its venerable proprietress has resulted in her closing her business forever. :crybaby:

Add to that is the major nationwide internet provider for our area has little to no interest in addressing our lakeside community’s maddeningly intermittent internet telling us that if we want quality service we should live in a more heavily populated area. :annoyed:

Which explains why I haven’t been able to post as often as I’d like given our “catch as catch can” internet service. :pout:

So left to my own devices (pun intended) I decided to indulge in some IRL retail therapy with the purchase of an oddly compelling asymmetrical Stella Bianca bag that caught my eye at TJMAXX.

(Talk about showing my age! :giggle: The prominence of the front flap magnetic snaps vividly recall the heady days of the seventies when burning our bras was considered de rigueur on campus. )

There are areas in France where people have absolutely no access to the Internet…and areas where they can’t even use their smart phones unless they drive to the nearest town to get a signal….
They called them « white zones »
Working from home is therefore impossible which led to co-working businesses that grew like mushrooms ( as we say in French ) and made some users paranoid in the long run.
Fortunately there is some good news in your post,Fim..
You are now the owner of a gorgeous new bag and I love it!:dothewave:

Happy Friday, fellow Islanders! :beach:

There are few situations requiring more diplomacy than telling (without actually saying) that you haven’t liked the direction your hairdresser of many years has been recently taking with your hair style.

Tact is all important for the fact that once you’re in the chair, she is the one with the scissors. :panic:

Here’s hoping for the best with my hair appointment later this morning….

I am somewhat relieved that our lovely neighbour country is facing the same problems like we do. We have those areas, too. Without internet.

I bought this bag from Anthropologie at the end of last season, put her in my closet….and here we are:

Very special and nice!

Happy Thursday everyone!
I somewhat dropped from sight as I am working remote this week and cannot show off any bags.
We did some planting today and the the ever ongoing fight against pest plants of all sorts.
Have a nice weekend, Ludmilla.
There are lots of tourists in my area at the moment because of a four day weekend..I should see lots of lovely bags but it’s been raining for a couple of days and all I can see is people carrying umbrellas and plastic shopping bags…
